As you know playing on the very-low graphic settings is very, very hard. The objects in game are nearly unrecognizable and looks like the unidentified blots. It's an effect of the extreme compression of the vanilla sprites, that are not designed for this use.
I have an idea to create the "8-bit like" texturepack that can't be corrupted by the compression. It should contain only very simplified versions of sprites. The fancy look it's not necessary. The most important are the clear shapes of objects.

Originally (pre-Albert times) factorio used to have simple schematic graphics,
it took me a lot of time to get used to the current nice-looking barely-distiguishable version.
I always wanted to get the old eye-candy-free look back.
Unfortunately the relevant mod fell through due to lack of time: https://forums.factorio.com/forum/vie ... 184&p=8269
I guess that's what you would like as well?
