Re: To play or not?
- I loved Anno 2205, paid 60$ for the game for it not to work. Ubisoft refused to refund it, there is one part where they know it is bugged and it will force you to reset your game. They were patching saves for awhile but stopped. I bit my tongue over this and tried again as per their recommendation...

Re: Friday Facts #340 - Deep desyncs
So, I get that you're kind of an angry internet person, and anything said will be received badly, but if you do work on games, for fun or profit, then it's worth learning how to do multiplayer sync, and the different options available. What you're describing here is one option, but is definitely no...

Re: Entity Settings (map editor)
Entity health is stored runtime as a floating point value between 0 and 1. It's converted back for display in tooltips and in the text box. Just it isn't worth letting people type fractional values in the text box so it only shows and lets you input whole numbers. Thanks for this, I have heard the ...

More NEW official content please, not just bugfixes for mods... Yeah where's that new character gui you've been promising or how about some new animations or something geez. This is sarcasm right? In any regard: https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=82431 - Character GUI https://forum...

Re: New Character GUI (eye strain)
Here's the finished mod: https://mods.factorio.com/mod/ClassicGUI Currently changes inventory, crafting and signals picking gui to be less of an eyesore. Thanks a million Optera! It will be interesting to see if this inspires anyone else to do skinning. [Maybe a moderator can lock this thread there...

Re: New Character GUI (eye strain)
This is a bit bright:
But this is really nice, it gets rid of that grid illusion.
I wasn't sure if it was indeed modable, but seeing how it is hopefully someone will come up with something.

Re: Mod portal down?
its SUPER slow for me. Multiple hours to download a mod via the portal or via the game sync. I've had the issue where in game downloads have been brutally slow, but mod portal has been ok for me so far. The forums were down yesterday for a few hours, not sure if related. EDIT: oh yeah, hey with eve...

Re: New Character GUI (eye strain)
I mean, we're all different. From the OP's other screenshots, those luminous pink-purple window borders nearly gave me a seizure just from a screenshot. Wube are never going to please everyone and shouldn't try. You can't have an option for absolutely everything. Just a means to turn off the placeh...

Re: New Character GUI (eye strain)
[/quote] My first reaction was the same as @OP, horrible contrast. After a few hours of play it's "less bad". It's probably akin to the age old "black text on white background" vs "white text on black background" debate (and i like bright background...). Icons with blac...

Re: New Character GUI (eye strain)
For me, the icons in the new crafting GUI for some reason look smaller. Couldn't figure out why, because they aren't actually smaller. After staring at your screenshots again for a few minutes, it looks like the text is higher up on the icon. Could that also be throwing you off? Honestly never noti...

Running Console Commands (COLOR)
Console commands used to just be white, now they're colored based on the player. commands.PNG If your character is red it look like it an error. Should console commands be exempt from coloring? It feels confusing Edit: I guess im just dense its been like this for awhile now, I see it in .17 too (was...

0.18 is experimental so far.

Re: Starter page improvements
I was looking at the starter page (https://www.factorio.com/starter-page) and it seems as if the content hasn't been updated since 0.15, and a lot of things have changed since then. Just thinking it might be useful for the starter page to have updated information, not to confuse new players. I thin...

Re: Change rail block colors for not used, different colors
Putting the mockery everyone is giving you aside, an actual answer to this would most likely be: this will never implemented HOWEVER a mod can most likely make this change and have it configurable to your own liking. I am not adept at modding but there are two forums here for it: Ideas and Requests ...
