But how will you know which servers are still online if the list is outdated? Which has the potential to spiral out of control over time. As more and more servers become ghosts on your list, and you keep trying to connect to dead servers.

Amateurs, the lot of you.

What should happen is biters make a nest on your corpse, and spawns 3 Behemoths that go off in different directions. One of them ate your corpse, and now you have to go hunt it down to get your stuff back.

If I understand it correctly, the logic works in reverse. The Bots don't look for jobs, the jobs look for bots to fill them. The black box is in the the order the job queues are processed. Steam based power (engines and turbines) only consumes steam when generating electricity. If the power grid they're connected to has no demand, then it won't produce power. if you drop an inserter next to one of the power poles, you'll see the engine start running (slowly) due to the idle power cost...

I can see applications for mega factories to compact fluid networks. But thats about the only value it would have in vanilla. A simpler way to go about it is post-rocket research to either increase pipe capacity, or change the coefficient on fluid transfer. Implementing pipe tiers would require this...
