Re: Friday Facts #365 - Future plans -> Evironment friendly goals

When i think of Factorio and what i love about it (the problem solving and development) and then think about what it should do better in a future version, then one thing comes to my mind: Think about using the game engine, but change the goals the player thrive to achieve. Currently factorio is like...

Re: [kovarex] [1.1.11] drag placing belts over belts is weird

This kind of convenience for the user/player is that kind of "special case hell" that i usually try to avoid, as it makes things hard to explain / understand and buggy. My approach in this situation would be to carefully weight the use /cost balance. It's a nice feature, but i would prefer...

Re: [0.17.69 vanilla] Inserter mispick on rocket launch

Thanks for the reply, that explains it. However the explanation is a bit counter intuitive. All other factories / buildings (at least as far as i k...

[0.17.69 vanilla] Inserter mispick on rocket launch

I think i found a bug with inserters on the rocket launcher. I have several belts that transport items for the rocket and the satellite. Each side of the belt has different items and the inserters are picking from the required side for the satellite and rocket. In the moment the rocket becomes ready...

You guys are awesome!

I'm reading the FFFs now for quite a while now and i just wanted to thank you for the insight and also for the smile it brings when i read about the tricky issues and your way to cope with them. I just felt a bit guilty for not coming with the best approach from the beginning As a fellow developer i...

Friday Facts #309 - Biter Eco activists

I'm a relatively new (about 100 hours playtime) player to Factorio. Just wanted to leave my point of view. Biters could be a nice way to teach the player that it may not be the best idea to create pollution all over the place / map / planet. From the biter perspective the player is the intruding ali...
