Once you're on multiple planets, and using remote view and construction bots a lot, it's kind of silly how much *less* powerful you are when interacting with things without the map. It happens over and over that I try to do something and get the "out of reach" error message.
My suggestion is to add ...

Re: Simple Questions and Short Answers
Oh — I just managed to do it! I went to make a logistics request, found the blueprint book, requested 10 of them, and it brought me my book! Guess I answered my own question this time.rockaday wrote: Tue Nov 12, 2024 3:01 am Is there a way to make a logistics request for all blueprint books, or something like that?

Re: Simple Questions and Short Answers
I was in map/remote view, looked in a passive provider chest, and clicked on a blueprint book, and that put a red X on it and a bot came and removed it. I'm not sure where the bot took it. I was trying to select a blueprint to build it, but I guess I did it wrong.

Thanks, that worked for me!myridium wrote: Fri Nov 08, 2024 1:44 am You can still do that with logistic bots. But it's not possible to load rocket fuel as cargo into a rocket with inserters.

Re: How to Ship Rocket Fuel to Another Planet
mmm yeah ok, i thought rocket fuel is free and renewable in Nauvis too, with mining prod research and the rocket fuel prod research you only need a handful pumpjack
Maybe that's right -- I don't have rocket fuel prod research yet, and I'm at mining prod 5. I just established my first ...

Re: How to Ship Rocket Fuel to Another Planet
Ah, logistics requests from space platforms have an "Import From" designation where you specify a planet! That's really helpful!

Re: How to Ship Rocket Fuel to Another Planet
Thanks, I'll give that a try!
It's unclear why you'd want to ship rocket fuel to the other planet if you have it in both for convenience , it's silly too x)
Because on Gleba I can make it incredibly cheaply/easily—essentially for free. Completely renewable resource, I don't have to establish ...

Re: Cargo Landing Pad circuit logic & logistics
You're doing it wrong :)
The devs only want you to use logistic bots to do everything with the silo. I know the circuit options are present but they're essentially non-functional as you've noticed. There are other things that you can't do, like load processing units, rocket fuel or low-density ...

Re: How to Ship Rocket Fuel to Another Planet
The only way is to check "automatic requests from space platforms", add the request to the space platform, and put rocket fuel in the same logistics network as the rocket silos. (Or manually insert the rocket fuel into the rocket cargo)
Thanks!
Then the space platform will request it from ...

How to Ship Rocket Fuel to Another Planet
I think I've figured out how to turn a space platform into an interplanetary "train." I set a requester chest next to the rocket silos with an inserter going into the silo, and request whatever I want through the chest. In the silo, I uncheck "automatic requests from space platforms."
On the other ...

Repair Packs Work on Space Platform
Last night I learned that repair packs work on space platforms. I had thought without construction bots or the ability to run around and use them, they weren't an option.
If I'd figured this out sooner, things would have been much easier. My first three space platforms were destroyed. Oops. Finally ...

Re: Inserter Drawing from Splitter (Gleba Spoilage) Question
I found a specific example where it does not seem to be working. Looking for help with this.
The biochamber says there's no jelly. But the splitter shows jelly as one of the contents, and yet the inserter doesn't grab it. What's happening here?

Gleba Biofactory Phase 3
After installing Space Age, building a basic base on Nauvis, and doing some research, I left for Gleba with nothing but a few steel plates in my pockets. I barely made it, and once there, it was surprisingly difficult just to get iron and copper going. My first attempt was a spaghetti mess that didn ...

Re: Inserter Drawing from Splitter (Gleba Spoilage) Question
If you have a splitter set to filter spoilage, there is room on the spoilage output belt, there is spoilage available on the input belt, and the spoilage isn’t getting through, then it must be that non-spoilage items are backed up (even just one hidden underneath the inserter’s top is enough) so ...

Inserter Drawing from Splitter (Gleba Spoilage) Question
On Gleba, I'm running belts in front of biochambers to insert the inputs, and if there's no further use for what's on that belt, I put a splitter at the end with a spoilage filter to draw away the spoilage so the inserter can grab the unspoiled inputs again. But sometimes it backs up anyway, so I ...

Hmm... you can remotely drive (fueled) vehicles (but only if in radar range ?), and also manually push unfueled locomotives and wagons... but not both.

Re: Simple Questions and Short Answers
One of my trains ran out of fuel on Nauvis. I'm on Gleba, my space platform was destroyed, and I don't have a way off the planet (not quite yet anyway, I'm getting closer). What can I do about it? It's located in the fog of war, outside the range of construction bots or radar. It was the only train ...

Re: Understanding Quality Logistics Limitation
Ah, you *can* set up multiple requests for different qualities, I just hadn't figured out how to do it before. Usually I click the item first and it says I'm blocked by a conflicting request. But if instead I change the quality *first*, then click the item, it works! Thanks!
