Agreed. The question immediately arises - can the mechanics of "rotting" (which is on Gleba) be changed to something else for other things (evaporation rate, rusting, etc.) in potential mods?

Yes, bring it back! It's very inconvenient to play with /editor! A game about planning and construction should definitely have a sandbox mode with a convenient inventory and so on (in the editor you can't save what you need for construction on the quick access panel). Thank you :)

So.... should I hold off starting a new game now and wait? Can anyone advise? There's a big ass update coming real soon like a few odd weeks. Would be best to wait till the updates are out Does the update apply to all aspects of your mod or will it again be 90% alien life and 10% of the rest? :) Ev...

I faced the same problem - I want to start a new game right now (I really want to), but there is absolutely no desire to face a huge mountain of problems that will arise when a big update is released. I'm really looking forward to the release of updates on ingame mod-browser. :D

They only show up in New chuck's Well, I am using this command https://wiki.factorio.com/Console#Reveal_the_map_around_the_player standing somewhere around map edges to reveal new chunks that had not previously generated (completely black). I believe that should generate new chunks as if I was walk...

There is still no bitumen seep on my map. There have already been three updates, but the situation has not changed. I opened the map through the console and nothing. There is only a message in the console:

The old deposits should still be useful as is. The 1/sec thing was not intended and im looking into how to fix it. Bitumen seep only appears in New chucks not in old areas.
