I "solved" my problem by force dumping all the items using a request on the platform with a max of 0. Obviously this resulted in the maximum on the landing pad not being respected, so I had to void the excess with recyclers.
Not ideal. And I imagine it might still have the same problem in the long ...

Re: Solar panels show default output on Electric network window
The thing you're hovering over in the second screenshot is the item type. It's not associated with any existent entity; it's the same thing as hovering over a solar panel in your inventory or on the crafting list.

Re: [2.0.23] Recycler returns disproportionate amount of ingredients over a long time
Assuming the pRNG is working correctly, this is expected to some degree. It's a random walk .
A good way to test if the pRNG is NOT working correctly is if this is consistent for the same item times of the same quality. If say, epic inserters always have an excess of one ingredient, tested across ...

Re: [2.0.20] Space platforms not dropping requested items
Removing the surface requests that I knew never would work (like quality science, which I decided to never produce) did help. Didn't solve it completely but fewer space platforms are idle.

Re: [2.0.21] Locomotive has an additional slot where copper can be placed in
IMO it'd be more reasonable for the inserter entity to drop the spoil product on the ground and mark it for pickup by construction bots (unless the target can take it normally anyway). In this case there will be some random copper ore occasionally dropped that might confuse some people, but that ...

[2.0.20] Space platforms not dropping requested items
- What did you do?
I built a lot of space platforms (~30) to supply my base on nauvis with iron ore, calcite, and space science.
- What happened?

Re: How do I prevent quality nutrients being used as biochamber fuel?
Ah I think I misunderstood weareyan. I assumed by "assembler" they meant "biochamber". I guess instead they meant they use an assembler nearby to create nutrients and feed it directly to the biochamber?

Re: Max white science from space platform
Because of the asteroid productivity research there's no solid answer for this. In the limit, it will be one.
Just make a simple setup and spam multiple copies, imo.

Re: How do I prevent quality nutrients being used as biochamber fuel?
I see no way to get what's in the fuel slot into the circuit network. "Read contents" doesn't include it.

How do I prevent quality nutrients being used as biochamber fuel?
I'm making legendary biochambers and one of the ingredients is nutrients. Sometimes they stick in the quality nutrients in the fuel slot, wasting it... Any setups that prevent this?

Re: Feedback from the wife and I's playing of space age so far
Okay so we got the "you win!" message after reaching the solar system edge, so I guess that mean's we've completed the expansion. We're not gonna bother to go to the shattered planet thing together, though I might do so solo.

Ice platform needs a shorter crafting time.
Aquilo is overall pretty great, but the initial setup phase is excruciating. It's basically half an hour (if you're doing it right) of making an ice platform production so you have enough ice platforms to expand the ice platform production. Only when you finally get the darn things to post scarcity ...

Re: You should be able to toss the ice back into the ocean of Aquilo
Hard mode aquilo: No recyclers. You must send things to space to void them.
On topic, yeah it'd make sense. Same for dumping ammonia back into the ocean. And if fluid dumping is allowed, that might solve ice too, though we'd have to melt it first.
And if y'all are concerned about lakes/etc ...

Re: Dissapointed Space Age doesn't do Space correctly
Yeah I found space drag to be really silly. It's no more silly than the asteroid density though.
Space in factorio is really, really cluttered.
IMO instead of drag they should've had the risk of overshooting the planet if you don't have enough thrust to brake in time. What happens if you ...

Space platforms with satisfied departure conditions should stop queuing rockets to fulfill requests
Currently space platforms will wait for rockets to arrive before they leave (this is fine) but they will also keep requesting more rockets even if all the departure conditions are met (this is not fine).
Easy way to show this:
Set space platform to a simple departure condition like "wait 10 ...

Re: Increase train impact damage?
Negative resistances! Yes, that will work. Thank you :D
EDIT: If anyone else tries this, I got weird crashing behavior with absurdly high negative resistances (-100000 or so). Instantly killing behemoth biters seems to cause problems (trains jittering around/etc). So, I set "decrease" to -500 and ...

Re: Increase train impact damage?
Oooh, I see. Yeah that makes sense now.
Still, if I just copy/paste that train's stats to locomotives/cargo wagons, won't that affect acceleration? Was hoping for a way without that.
