Re: [0.16.x] Bob's Mods: General Discussion
The problem with using gems as a dump for alumina, is that you then end up producing too many gems of certain varieties instead. So you can potentially solve one problem with non-tapering production chains by adding another. Also, looking at some of the product chains for modules and laser turrets t...

Re: [0.16.x] Bob's Mods: General Discussion
I halved it recently, I also halved it not quite so recently, so you get a quarter of what I initially intended. Hmmm.... well, if you add it to science, bring it all back! With the addition of more aluminum required in other recipes (i.e. belts, inserters) and then the potential of it being in the...

Re: [0.17.x] Bob's Mods: General Discussion
question is, what will be then motivation to upgrade machines, and i'm not talking about speed, since we have modules and beacons for that. and old machines will take less power. I have no clue what is technically possible, but one frustration I have in my current playthrough is matching tier with ...

Re: [0.16.x] Bob's Mods: General Discussion
I'm thinking that the solution is just to use Sodium Hydroxide in a science pack. then we'll end up being back to the complaint that you don't get enough of it from the recipe. It would go well on the new chemical science pack in 0.17 (Science pack 3), or if I go with my new science packs model, on...

I don't see any discussion here yet of the assembler complexity limit being dropped. I know I saw some discussion on that in the other thread. Are there any plans solidified yet as far as whether you'll be keeping the item limits?

Re: [0.16.x] Bob's Mods: General Discussion
I'd like to revisit the excess production of sodium hydroxide (NaOH). I was thinking of approaching this from a different angle. Instead of looking for ways to get rid of the excess NaOH, what if there were an alternative production method for producing chlorine gas that didn't result in sodium hydr...

Re: Thoughts on ore processing
Hi, is it normal that sorting and basic smelting of crushed stiratite/saphirite is worse than their direct smelting ? Feels like a trap... Sure, you get extra 12 slag instead of each 5 iron/copper plates you lose, but this slag is only really going to be useful much later ! Kind of. If you're putti...

Fill bar on warehouses/ore silos?
Is it possible to put a fill bar on ore silos and warehouses like they have on fluid tanks? It would be useful to get an at-a-glance estimation of how long until you need to do something with your (non-liquid) byproducts.
