How can I go about manipulating the craft queue?

I want to change things in the crafting queue. When the player crafts, say, 5 inserters, first all gears for the 5 inserters are made, then all 5 circuits, then the 5 inserters. I want to break this up from batched production to piecemeal production, but since this is my first modding attempt, I'm a...

Re: Friday Facts #315 - New test servers

Yeah, about modding, any good / recent tutorials out there? I recently wanted to dip my toes in, but I found it terribly hard to get into it. And I'm an IT professional...

Any tips on getting started, anything more descriptive than the default documentation (which, honestly, lack example code), etc?

Re: Make Chroma Support opt-in instead of opt-out

For me, Factorio has always run incredibly smoothly, but after the recent Chroma-addition I started experiencing drops in framerate. Turning off Chroma Support (which was set ON after its implementation) solved the framedrops. I don't have Chroma hardware by the way. Can you provide system specs an...

Re: Friday Facts #266 - Cleanup of mechanics

Nice post, guys! Great work on all the streamlining. Specifically the pickaxe - that was an axe I had to grind with Early Game. However, I'm not sure I'm feeling the Assembler change. I really do feel that the number of ingredients an assembler can take is part of the technological progression. Yesa...

Quicker building of ghosts/blueprints

TL;DR Holding down the Q key while clicking on a ghost should auto-select and build that item. What ? After dropping down a blueprint, holding Q while dragging the mouse over the ghosts should auto-build that ghost instead of only selecting it. Why ? Plonking down a blueprint is incredibly powerful...

Re: Friday Facts #254 - No research queue for you

Aw, no research queue? It looked perfect! Yeah, I'd expect a pop-up saying Research complete - Recipes now available: - Thingy A - Thingy B And the ability to queue up several relevant items at obce seemed nice... After all, you are setting up research pack production and consumption just like any o...

Make Chroma Support opt-in instead of opt-out

Make Chroma Support opt-in instead of opt-out What ? In the options menu, under Other, there is a checkbox that toggles the recently added support for Razer Chroma hardware. I'd like to suggest that this checkbox is turned OFF by default, and that users with Chroma-hardware can manually activate it...

Re: Support for Color Blinds / Better Visibility ...

Visually (slightly) disabled person here! I mostly have trouble with ghost parts that are not (yet) constructed by the robots. They're very hard for me to pick out between all the 'real' parts... Could a ghostly shimmer or other visual cue be added to show Ghost parts?
