Compact Iron Gear Assembly (Blue Belt)
So my goal was to fill 2 blue belts full of iron gears with as little space as possible. Screenshot_2554.png Someone could probably make it a little bit smaller by replacing the productivity modules with speed modules. But then again i like that it looks somewhat symmetrical compared to 5 assemblers...

Re: Which Coal Liquefaction setup is better out of these 2?
I'm with M44v on this one, the left one won't prime from the liquid bus and the one on the right has superfluous pumps and has a potential lockup state if less than 1000 is in the tank Yes but where do you place the pump. Which design would you place the pump? Would you make the like the left where...

Re: Early super compact GREEN CIRCUIT
Well, i tried to find a way to make a smaller design than 18x19, but i didnt find one, in terms of "area" anyway. I found a pretty sinful 15x26 design however. Sins Commited: -Uses Belt Tricks to fill both sides of the belt with Green Circuits -Uses way too many undergrounds for it to work...

So, i dont really know how to apply any of those numbers into building my factory, however can i assume as a rule of thumb that its never a bad idea to place productivity module 1s on every possible slot in the whole factory?

Re: The Theme And Philosophy You Found in Factorio
The theme is creating a large logistical system. Actually, the "philosophy" that mechanics can temporarily overpower organic life more accurately describes the game. P I'm quite interested with the word "temporarily" in this statement. Does this mean the Biters get pretty annoyi...

Re: Smelting where you mine
The smelt on site design would be best used early game IMHO. The perks of having a separate smelting area is definitely the use of modules and a greater mining density, but you dont have any of those at the start of the game. You also dont need overly productive miners early on since you havent gott...

Re: Compact tileable 25x16 Oil to Petroleum gas processing
The Original Post is certainly one certifiable spaghetti monster on its own.
Also When i Checked the wiki, it says the ratio's are different. Heres a direct screenshot i got from the factorio wiki page (1:1:1)? Is that ratio correct though?

Just improved the blueprint above my post a bit. made it so that the 2 belts are used by 2 smelters on both sides. 0eNqdls1uqzAQhV8l8hoqezAkl5e4iy7uoqoqkri5loyNjKkaRbx7hySlP3GSgRXC4G8OM2cYH9jadKrx2gZWHpjeONuy8unAWr2zlRnWwr5RrGQ6qJolzFb1cKeM2gSvN2mtrba7dOu1MaxPmLZb9c5K0Sd3GcFXtm2cD+lamfBtM/TPCVM26KDV...

The Theme And Philosophy You Found in Factorio
What Theme or Philosophy does Factorio Convey to you? For me factorio is telling us "Humans are the plague of this planet." In-game there is no motivation nor a way for you as a player to actually preserve or save the life currently on the planet. No way to plant trees, or eventually make ...

Re: Attacking biters with turrets makes all weapons pointless
Based on the games Starcraft and UFO Aftermath, Why not allow the Spawners to just make that organic floor creep around their base? with this indicator you can code the creep to disallow the player from placing any buildings within that territorry. the floor creep would also just go away slowly once...

Re: Pump recipe correction
but...trains need pumps for fluid wagons to work. its way harder to have to produce separate engines for pumps and trains. At least this way pumps and trains could be utilized at the same tech requirement.

Re: Peace with Aliens
Im pretty glad there is a mode turning off alien aggression. im tired of having to do turret creeps and manually repairing outposts since roboport construction bots only fly straight and sometimes end up suiciding in the enemy base.

Re: fractal 512 belt balancer
So, my question to everyone is - in what cases do you truly need balancers (as they are defined by the community) and in which cases do you actually want "balancers" by my definition instead? lets say a 4-wagon Train station is unloading supplies, with a 4 belt balancer, you can make item...
