I love this game, but there is one part, that i find to get boring quickly and that is establishing new outposts for ressources. So, i finally figured out the Bug.
If you remap the "open objects GUI" the Artillery doesnt fire anymore, with your mouse but with the button you remapped it to. Since for some reason firing the Artillery is bound to that.

I just jumped in my Artillery train to expand and kills some bitters, but it wont fire using the remote from the map. It does work with the remote if i dont use the Map (M).
