Re: Balancing of Capacities of Containers
Regarding larger chests, one thing to watch out for there is that multi-space chests essentially function as faster belts (not quite infinite speed, but only capped by stack insert speeds). People occasionally use cars or stationary train wagons in this manner already. This isn't a major concern wit...

Re: [failure] train defense
You can kill Behemoths with Trains, but you need a BIG train (15 locomotives). From this reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/factorio/comments/7bk85x/how_large_does_a_train_need_to_be_to_mow_down/ Slight correction: Locomotives are twice the weight of cargo wagons, not equal weight. The actual w...

Re: Forum Games: A Complaint About Their Closure
Yeah I agree. I can understand wanting to limit them either in quantity or location but locking them entirely is a bit much. Maybe have a separate sub-forum for them and people who don't want notifications can just turn it off for that sub-forum. As for post count inflation, who cares? Post count is...

Re: Factorio popularity
Wait what... Eurotruck Simulator 2 is on the 7th place? o_O Maybe it is just me but I have the general assumption that all of those "<you-name-it> Simulator" games are usually crap. A lot of the simulator games are designed to appeal to a very niche audience. So games like Eutotruck Simul...

I was confused at first. Allegro is also a PCB design tool so I was trying to figure out why it was being used in a video game. I mean Factorio factories do look a bit like PCBs when you zoom out but still.

Re: Very Dense Belt Crafting
Nice, I like super compact setups. One suggestion, you shouldn't really need the filter inseters for the Yellow Tunnel/Splitter factories. Normal Fast or Stack inserters can pick off a mixed belt just fine and the belt is short enough that you don't need to worry to much about it missing an item goi...

Re: Set of 4 Kovarex EP centrifuge blueprint, 2.0!
Neat approach. One question, for the second and third centrifuge, could you use a single standard inserter with a stack size of 2/3 instead of multiple inserters (assuming you have the appropriate research of course)?

IMHO they should work but the catalyst should be deducted. The fact that Coal Liquefaction works with productivity modules and gets the catalyst as a bonus as well always struck me as a bit off.Koub wrote:Should prod modules work on this kind of recipes, or should they not ?

But I dont get why csgo & dota are on this list Oo the other games could make sense aswell @ haunting dreams; but csgo? and dota? Well keep in mind the nominations are based on votes by Steam users so if a decent enough population of the Steam user base feels it haunts their dreams then it will...

Yeah those are the games from The Game Awards. The Steam Award nominations haven't been revealed yet. They'll probably be revealed as part of the Steam Christmas Sale, that's how they did it last year.

Re: Factorio for education - Licensing and all the Rest
I'd go with removing Military Science Packs entirely. The majority of the techs that require military science are going to need to be removed anyway. By my count there are only two techs which you would want to leave in that require Military Science, Rocket Silo and Power Armor 2. Everything else th...

Re: Factorio for education - How does the licensing work?
Unfortunately I doubt you'll find a pre-made mod along the lines you're asking for. If you want to completely remove all mention of weapons you'd need a mod that removes all recipes for weapons, ammo, turrets and the tank (you can probably get away with leaving the car in) as well as some of the pow...
