Re: The farthest I've gotten so far...
You are going to want more oil and ore as you start building each component for rocket defense. I'd start building a train network to ship in more resources.

About pipes
I've been thinking about the above ground pipes and how players cannot walk over them. Does this added limitation actually add anything to the game? My answer is no, its just an annoyance. Other than looking cool there are a ton of downsides to above ground pipe: 1) Liquids decelerate more compared ...

It would probably faster to move all that ore manually.

Re: Factorio 0.12.8 will crash after launch [Mac]
I've been experiencing an issue with the application freezing on OS X Yosemite at launch in which the mouse will just turn into the pinwheel icon indefinitely. The only way out is to force quit factorio. It happens many times during or after the loading screen but before opening a map. Occasionally ...

Re: Nuclear power in Factorio - clean or dirty?
All these posts saying nuclear energy is clean. Its only clean because we bottle up the waste and send it elsewhere. Let's please keep that discussion out of these forums. It has no place here. Let's discuss mechanisms for adding new power generation to the game in a way that would make it fun, wit...

Re: Nuclear power in Factorio - clean or dirty?
All these posts saying nuclear energy is clean. Its only clean because we bottle up the waste and send it elsewhere. For a game where your car runs on coal I imagine containing the waste would either not work well or just be dumped somewhere.

Re: Seven Segment Display 0-9 w/bstring
I'll need to take a look a that, he really reduced the number of combinators. The design of mine is 7 groups each defining the range of choices using <, >, =, and and or gates.

Seven Segment Display 0-9 w/bstring
I made a little SSD in facotorio :geek: It can show numbers 0-9 based on input from the network. Just replace the constant combinator with your input and adjust the / combinator to index your data to numbers 0-9. I'm sure further optimization may be possible, but in its current state it simply works...

Suggestion: Show signals tip on circuit network listeners
Version 0.12.3 (Build 16287, mac) I was trying out the new combinators last night, and found one thing that was rather fiddly. When trying to send a signal lights and pumps, I could not see in the tooltip what signals were being input to them. I could see the signal being output when hovering over t...

Re: Completing Rocket Defense in X games?
I didn't commit to it until my 4th or 5th game. It was around the 4th play I figured out how much copper would need to be shipped in by train and prepared appropriately. Before then I would finish blue science packs and resources would start to crawl because I did not keep up with train expansions t...

Landmines vs Laser turrets
Laser turrets need a lot of research to be effective on their own and consume a ton of electricity. Are landlines a more economic choice?

Yosemite broke some things in .10, however in the .11 series the issue with loading was resolved. (at least for me)

I just use the fancy white bar at the top of my browser. Shockingly, I have no trouble forgetting the name of the parent website.
