Re: Friday Facts #352 - New website

I am a bit sad that the whole development ride is coming to an end. 1.0 is right around the corner! I hate to think "ah man, that's the last FFF."

It is coming... some day.

Like the new design, an improvement over the first choice for sure.

But will likely continue using the Built In Beacons mod. Love me some true spaghetti.

Love the new design!

Is it just me, or does the drill start clockwise and end in counter-clockwise?

There shouldn't be decoratives on paths/concrete in the first place. Placing down tiles should automatically pave over them. It's one reason why I turn them off altogether

Came here to post this too. Factorio for many people is a game for people who delight in orderly designs, and having randomised crookedness, when all you want is the joy of a straight line, is gonna drive some people mad.
That's me.

Definitely a "mad scientist" vibe. Eye of Sauron. It looks like a lot of things, but not an effect transmission.

Not a big fan.

So quick question, many months later...

With all the optimizations and improvements to the game, can this number maybe be increased to 128? :D

Re: Friday Facts #327 - 2020 Vision

90.3% people bought borrowed the game via Steam. This is horrible, we live in the world, where people no longer care about owning a property. It's good that you still sell the game on website and via GOG (where I got it). 90.3% people bought a copy of borrowed the game via Steam. I truly understand...

Definitely looks better sped up.. will that be an option in the game or can it be modded for speed?

EDIT: Saw the post where it's a setting in the file. Nice!

September next year? Madness. Stick a '1.0' label on it, and ship it, it's beautiful right now, as it is. I'd rather be buying the first expansion DLC in September next year than watch you wonderful people gild the lily ad infinitum!
Second this!

Love the new colors\brightness. I play on a 55" 4K screen - will be an awesome improvement. Also, the map view - very awesome.

Seems the community is somewhat split, but A-OK with me! :D

Re: Friday Facts #316 - Map editor Lua snippets & Non-colliding Biters

What would be extremely useful is the ability to copy one part of a map to another map (or a new map). Will the script do this? Including entities? The map editor already allows you to import layers from existing saves. I did this just a few days ago to migrate a base with its surrounding starting ...

You bugger. I was floating around and saw your little "surprise" in the middle of the ocean. Nicely done, old chap. Also, excellent map. You should do a tutorial on the map editor now, as I imagine you have the absolute most experience, even over the devs. Edit: Meant to say, I play on a 52" screen,...

Re: Friday Facts #293 - New remnants 2 & 1.0 Marketing plan

From kovarex: The famous quote of "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" and also "No bullshit policy" is something we take very seriously all the time during the development since the early days. Things like pricing $30 instead of $29.99, no sales, no micro-transactions, game stabilit...
