Re: Friday Facts #365 - Future plans

As someone already said RTS mode would be great. There is already a way to control units remotely, a map with zoom, autofire on units, multiple units and static defences (and adding more units is not hard at all). Now the main problem is slow and very long early game. It takes a lot of time before ...

Re: Version 1.1.0

Many great features. I like the quickbar change as changing items on the quick bar was slow and painful process for me. My son couldn't even do that (he's 4.5). As for performance optimizations it depends on the case as always. Your base and your hardware. My mega base with many trains and many sepa...

Re: Performance while running the game on Android phone

It seems to mainly be a problem with rendering, probably the emulator does not use phone GPU at all. As for UPS 11 is not that bad IMO for emulation of very complex instruction set that has been evolving for like 40 years.

Re: Friday Facts #361 - Train stop limit, Tips and tricks

Things I didn't get at first: 1. Pause button. This might seem stupid but I normally pause the game by opening the menu (by esc I believe) so when I accidentally paused by pressing pause key combination I thought there is an error. I know it is in the hotkey options but there are so many of them it ...

Re: Fluid Optimization not fixed for release?

IMO wave (assuming that pipes are always partially filled) modelling of pipe flow is the main problem. The pipes should be modelled like water pipes in real life: always full and flow is controlled by pressure and flow resistance. Pressure should be decided by connected sources (including tanks whic...

Greatest FF ever. Return of The King! :) Game is a game, feature is a feature. But that's not features and graphics that made this game great. Not technical side of the game (I still think that single threaded update, even for pathfinding is just... meh). It is the mindset of the team that makes Fac...

Re: Friday Facts #330 - Main menu and File Share Shenanigans

ZFS is fantastic! As someone working a few years with T5 servers with ZFS I have to disagree. It was OK unless more than 50% disk usage, otherwise it was getting painfully slow. Now we switched to x86 with a different FS and evweything works fine even at 99% of used space. I don't even know which F...

Re: Friday Facts #320 - Color correction

I am usually in the minority so it's no surprise that I really like the new colors. Especially the new night is a big step forward. Anyway, for those who don't like it, I think pollution should desaturate the colors. All clean areas should be vivid but concrete deserts that many players like to buil...

[0.17.69] Landfill color on minimap is still green

Landfill now looks brown in game: https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img921/1412/qs4WEW.png But on the minimap it is still green (it is the same area as previously just zoomed out 1 level): https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img922/5253/HBli8s.png This landfill was created many versions ago. I am not sure...

Re: Friday Facts #304 - Small bugs; Big changes

I'm all for the oil change. When I first started playing Factorio there was a commonly used trick to dump light/heavy oil into a steam engine. This was the most efficient way until cracking but it was unintuitive and terrible mechanic and thankfully it was removed. I remember than many people cried ...

Re: Version 0.17.47

For the first time since I started playing (and it was in 0.14 times) I will have a WWF (weekend without Factorio) as I can't continue with my game due to loading crash. Please stop releasing on Fridays as this is a known terrible practice. Even if you do fix it you'd probably like to do something e...

It's the biters not artillery. FPS go up when biters die not when cannons stop shooting.

Re: Friday Facts #266 - Cleanup of mechanics

Please remove durability instead of ingredient limit on assembly machines. Durability is just annoyance, ingredient limit adds some depth to the game and affects the early game strategy for things like PvP or speed runs.

We are still looking for players. Our first attempt had only 2 people in the game, it was not very successful but still well below 8 hours.

Re: The Green Dilemma

I think that efficiency modules need a buff. This is just plain wrong that 3xEff3 = 2xEff2 on a drill. In my opinion: 1. Efficiency modules should be multiplicative instead of additive. Ex. 2x 50% reduction = 75% reduction. 2. There should be no hard limit on savings. 3. The reduction percentages of...

I'm from Europe so your early afternoon probably fits me.
I think with little organization 3 people should be able to do it in less than 4 hours.
