Re: Version 0.16.8

Except that now it takes about 5x as much bots/belts to move the same amount of barrels as before, which means worse performance. That completely goes against what the devs have said before about want to increase game performance. This is a design decision. In my opinion a very good one. You can in...

Re: Version 0.16.8

I like the new barrels, because I think that barrels were way overpowered until this release.

Yes the throughput is lowered and you need more machines and belts/bots to fill and transport your barrels, but that's not even bad.
Redesign your base - it's an experimental release. :)

Re: Factorio Friday Friday Facts #203 - Logistic buffer chest

I'm using the fastet MacBook Pro on the market - in pause mode Factorio still uses above 20% CPU power - on a very small map On a larger map 130% when running but also about 60% CPU power in sleep mode thought... Ahh, you're doing it wrong. This is the proper way to play on a mac: http://media.very...

Requester chests are not a source for your bots. You can feed machines from buffer chests, but bots will grab from it too.
I think... it depends. ;-)

167.42 tungsten plates per ore if you use 6 prod level 8 modules (+240%) in chem-plant 4 and electric-mpp-furnace 2. Wow. :-)

It's a bit overpowered...

Re: Friday Facts #167 - Reactors Operational

Yeah, I like it. :-) But I also think that the electrical network itself needs some rework. Currently you can power your multiple GW consuming base through a single cable. That's easy, but not really good. The electrical network should be more complicated (like the fluid system). The maximum through...

The cropped fertilizer symbol did not suit me, so I made another one.
I also checked the Google picture search. ;-)

I can see it in my crafting UI. "Dirt Water Electrolysis" is the 1st icon in the 3rd row.

Re: Development and Discussion

Hi, I made an (ugly? wicked?) almost complete graph for the current PetroChem mod within the free yEd Graph Editor. The forum doesn't let me upload the source file here easily, but you can have a look at my export. I'm still trying to make it look nice and clear, but that's a challenge... ;) Have fu...

Re: Binary decoder

This combinator stuff is very nice. Especially if you use them with the knowledge of the integer overflow quirk. Large displays with 1 combinator per row are really easy now. Yeah. :-) For those, who hasn't understood how it works (like me), I wrote this little tool (C code, 32bit int, q&d) that...
