Re: [0.17.66] exoskeletons stopped working
Looks like that was the issue, really should have some better visual indications that they are disabled when viewing the exoskeletons in the suit.

Re: How do you handle power shortages?
I normally handle power shortages by building more power production. My defense does not rely on beeing powered all the time and i prioritize fixing power if inserters start slowing down (that is how i detect power issues). Sounds not optimal, I have various nuclear power plants that come online as...

Way more orderly than my first saves, though I think I beat yours in efficiency.

Re: How do you handle power shortages?
Why have steam engines as emergency power when you can just have another nuclear power plant that comes online when cap is low?
You'll know you need to add more when the last plant starts coming on line too often.

Obviously factorio is 30+ and must be virgin, as only wizards can handle this game.

Logarithmic scaling for graphs
Add option to view production/fluid/etc graphs with logarithmic scaling.
Why? Because of obvious.

Set the evolution, science cost, etc at ridiculous settings on a railworld with lots of biters.
Enjoy a game that never ends.

Multiplayer should just show not-yet-really-built stuff as a different color version of ghost buildings.

Re: How does uranium processing not cause desync?
There are random numbers that are predictable and deterministic, there are random numbers that are unpredictable and deterministic and then there are random numbers that are unpredictable and nondeterministic. Sadly there are no numbers that are predictable and nondeterministic, so no can't do the f...

Re: Friday Facts #296 - All kinds of bugs
NULL checks are critical and should be absolutely everywhere. And result in instant failure of the application, with full debugging trace. The first line of any new C function that I write is literally just a list of any pointer parameters with: assert(parameter != NULL); assert(parameter2 != NULL)...

Re: How to kill trees...
I keep a separate boiler purely for burning trees, disconnected from the main power grid. A couple of empty beacons drains the generated power uselessly, and eats wood pretty quickly. Essentially this, why would anyone need to come up with some clever scheme to get rid of trash when you can just ha...

Your factory is built big like it handles high volumes, yet you are using miniature cuck-trains?

Re: How many main bus lines do you generally use?
I've never been a fan of the central bus. Instead, I have a decentralized system where separate modular areas have inputs/outputs delivered/retrieved by train. This pretty much, as demand increases things get processed in dedicated places outside of the central location. Don't fall for the 'central...

Re: Kovarex Process with self sustaining & growing feedback Loop
http://rtorrent.net/private/enrichment_loop.png This is a simpler, more compact design that can handle very high volume. When you can feed it by belt, as long as you make sure to add it to the upper half of the belt, and use a normal chests for the seed. Without the stack inserters for feeding enri...

Re: [Poll] "No research queue for you"
The only queue YOU need. I've been using science queuing for every single game that has science and supports research queuing. Need is different from want. I've never needed it. I do agree that it can be useful. And I should have been more clear; it's the only queue semi-required for a vanilla game...

Re: [Poll] "No research queue for you"
The only 'queue' that is actually needed is one that continues repeatable tech as that is a hinderance for late-game afk'ing.
