I like this idea, possibly the trades with the fleet could give you technology that you could not unlock on your own, maybe special weapons, or maybe cool vehicles that you cannot manufacture yourself.

All in all, it sounds like a cool idea.

I can't be bothered to quote all the good ideas in this thread, so i will just say +1 to all the suggestions in it.

Forgive me if i did not make this clear in the original post, but i was also hoping to get the opinions of other forum users, not just get the ideas out there.
