I have read it now, but the solutions described didn't work.
I don't think the problem is with the maximizing, the problem lies within the fact that I tried to go fullscreen. and somehow that crashed the game and made everything pile up in my left corner.

I installed the demo, and I got that thing where you had to maximize it, so I did that, went to options and put the game in full screen mode.
then restarted the game because I changed the language, and when I start the game now, I get a really small version of the game starting in the corner of my ...
