I wish I could be of more help with the sprites, but that sort of thing is way beyond my skill level. I do have a suggestion; I would love to see a range marker. Something like that in the picture in the first post I think would look very nice. Perhaps even something toggle-able.

The file for download is a .rar
I tried renaming it to a .zip but Factorio just crashed on load.

The way I read this, it seems like the large game studio is being given money for making a game with plot. If that's correct, I think Factorio should get some lore:

Well I know a streamer who is going to be ecstaticFixed the tank controls, as it could start to break when it hit someting. The tank doesn't get stuck when plowing through stuff now.

For those of you who are contemplating using this mod and/or Resource Spawner Overhaul, iGi came up with a bit of code that you can add into RSO's config file to get YI ores to work with it. This isn't necessarily going to be supported by either RSO or YI devs, but I've tested it and it works ...

I'm if there is a way for non-programmers to be able to add an ore type. I have recently started using Yuoki Industries which adds 2 ores, but RSO doesn't recognize them atm. Apparently if chrome doesn't finish uploading a file in 30sec, it just kills the transfer. This is becoming increasingly frustrating.
Along with these mods I used Main-DyTech-Machine-1.0.1.zip, but it just wouldn't upload because chrome is being shitty.

It should do that pretty well by default, make sure you set your resource spawn rates to "none" when creating a map, unless you've altered the config file. If you don't, RSO will spawn resources, as well as vanilla.

I managed to manual save it just before the crash, and can reliably reproduce the crash now. Furthermore, I believe I've figured out the exact culprit that is causing the issue. The crash happens when connecting two power grids together. When I was trying to diagnose if this was a mod issue or not ...

I think I finally figured out the cause of the crash, or at least, I can reproduce it now. The game crashes whenever I link up two separate power grids. Here's a screenshot when the game crashed, you can see that I was placing the power pole in between two separate grids.I imagine the log is similar ...

Well it didn't take long, not five minutes later the game crashed. It happened right as I was placing a power pole, or very shortly after. Here's the log:
