Ye, something like that. Except it looks cooler.

This looks pretty fun, will probably play it at some point.
Any chance you will be adding new cart types, locomotive types or track types? Maybe letting them take modules to give them additional functions? That would be pretty cool to see.

Re: Mega-Structures and merged structures.
Kinda agree with above. But I would like megastructures of things like assemblers, that have far more capacity for doing things. Maybe with internal output, so you only need to connect a conveyor.

Re: End game theory and gameplay ideas
An endless tech tree would only be needed if there wasn't an actual tech tree. It would be much better to have lots of techs that go well into/after the end game, costing more amounts of science and being stupidly powerful. After laser turrets, why not plasma cannons and artillery. Lets go further ...

Re: Productivity modules: where do you draw the line?
I use them in everything, but I make sure the craft speed still has a positive bonus, so for furnaces it's beacon(s) with speed modules, with assemblers, 3 productivity + 1 speed

Yea. We've set all enemy settings to max and green biters/spitters are spawning.Kewlhotrod wrote:are they biters green yet?

Do you find enemies to be a threat?
Still playing with a friend of mine, we're finally at the 60-80 personal construction bot stage. Soon planning to remake our factory around roboports which will be fun. But one thing I've noticed through out the entire game, is that the enemies, even with their settings one below max, just aren't ...

I'd love more modular vehicles, so we can put different sorts of endgame content on them.

Conveyor Control Console (And new Conveyor parts)
The Console: The CCC would be an expensive, endgame machine that can be interacted by right clicking it. You would get a view of all connected conveyors, and it would tell you the throughput of different areas, the current items/time that it carrys, and would let you change the direction or function ...

Re: Should Express Belts Always be Used?
Resources are not an issue. But thanks.SyncViews wrote:Fast belts cost a lot more than basic belts, and express belts even more so, making it a question of what is affordable.
Naturally a fast belt that is only 80% full is still moving more items per second than a packed basic belt, but at a much greater cost.

Re: Annoyances associated with Factory building
I think he means the smart inserters at the train station ;) Yeah, would have been a good idea :P But if you dont do that mistake once, you dont see the need to use smart inserters, they are just more expensive ;)
I mean at that point you make tons of them anyway. I use smart inserters for ...

Should Express Belts Always be Used?
I'm still relatively new and just browsing the forums on things, but couldn't find anything on this.
I've been seeing designs that use fast belts before slower ones to compress a belt, so I want to know, are express belts always viable, is the increased speed better than being able to compress the ...

Re: [MOD 0.12.x] Unstable ground
You could do custom terrain for where you can't build, have it as a giant chasm and the stone platforms are just there. Water is darkened so it looks like it's really far down.

Save File Optimization?
Will Factorio be getting any sort of optimization for save files? The game is great, but having to upload a 15MB save file every time a friend wants to hop on is kinda annoying, especially with a 70KB/s upload speed.

Re: Compact designs?
To be honest that's actually really quite good. A lot more compact and organized than most my factories and I've been playing for like 2 years. Lol
A few tips or suggestions though. Putting copper cable on a belt to feed circuits is typically advice against because of throughput issues due to how ...

Re: Annoyances associated with Factory building
I lost one of my trains...kinda.
Have something like 30 trains running ore to my base from outposts. I was doing a bit of rearranging and I found one train just going in circles. Stopped it and looked at it's schedule, somehow instead of going to an outpost it was just scheduled to go between two ...

Compact designs?
Hey, I'm still sorta new to Factorio, it's really fun though. My main issue is having compact and/or efficient designs, I feel like I have conveyors all over the place, so wanted to ask, what are your most compact designs for various productions? How do you setup your factories? What are tips for ...

Re: End game theory and gameplay ideas
Since the map is infinite, things could scale to get harder the further away from your main base you get. Give new endgame content that can only be accessed by going that far out, like I dunno, uranium or advanced ruins. Catastrophic events that have a higher chance of triggering the longer you've ...

I've been playing with a friend, this is our first factory. I came to the forums to look for advice and stuff, how to optimize things etc.
