Re: Surviving While Idle
Think: Tower Defense games... A solid wall is less effective than a wall of interlocking "L" shapes... This abuses the pathing, and rather than chew through your walls, the biters and spitters path through them. Have your damage units (I use a flame turret paired with 2 laser turrets) at l...

Re: Balanced buffer
I don't understand why everyone uses a "divide by chests" logic (two combinators per side) when all you need is multiply by -1... i use 1 arithmetic combinator per pickup stop. the divide by negative number of chests is to get the -average of all the chests. the inserters are wired with a...

I don't understand why everyone uses a "divide by chests" logic (two combinators per side) when all you need is multiply by -1... I'm not at home but I'll try to describe. The last inserter on the input belt is left un-wired. It's the "control" signal. In a perfect system, it get...

Re: Smelting where you mine
You can push this narrower/denser by moving the power to the output belt position (with an underground belt)... I like this layout for my new base, I'm on a huge peninsula, but space is starting to become a problem. I have metric tons of coal, so I haven't been using electric furnaces for my smelting.

Burners feed themselves coal (if available)... great for boilers or remote gun turrets.devilwarriors wrote:They always been in that graveyard for me.. nobody got time to feed inserter coalalbatrosv13 wrote:Burner inserter: "Welcome, brothers, to forgotten graveyard a player almost never uses"

Re: [MOD 0.12.27+] SmartTrains 0.3.81
In the current release "full" ignores the goto rule. Ahh, that helps immensely! I shall re-jigger my depot stations to use a "goto 4" rule once it detects full. If I understand correctly, if there is no signal condition, the train simply follows the normal route once the timer e...

Re: [MOD 0.12.27+] SmartTrains 0.3.81
Struggling with how to accomplish a couple things: I've been using a simple threshold rule for copper and iron for quite some time, but as I expand my supply locations, I am in need of a more complex layout. First Problem - multi-supply depots: I want to have a list of supply depots with one unloade...
