I'm using double headed trains <----> on a large base with two way rail signals.
When expanding the train network, I add the chain signals at junctions and rail signals at bypasses and mining outposts using construction bots.

I landed on Fulgora for the first time and the nearest patch has 25M scrap
Some of the immediate surrounding patches are half a million.
Another one I found is 50 million scrap.
