Re: Belt of Death
Personally I fail to see the humor in deliberate griefing of other players, AFK or not, and the subsequent waste of resources and time to reconstruct the items they had before death. As some may know I am not a fan of griefers to the point i asked far an official standpoint from the devs and starte...

Re: Whats the stance on griefing ?
I wont bother responding any further, some comments have been offensive antagonising and badly thought out. @mods feel free to lock this thread as I don't see any further need for it as my questions were answered. Now it just seems to be causing grief and as stated in my original post, I would like ...

Re: Whats the stance on griefing ?
This is a false argument, we are providing a direct means of communicating with other people, and in any communication service if you are malicious or disruptive to our players and our community it is our right to remove you from the service. how is that not an argument? [Moderated by Koub] also I ...

Re: Friday Facts #147 - Multiplayer rewrite
To OP 1. Server of servers :) While the first step is implementing a game server itself, I would suggest to do it thinking about superstructure. You might want to have a master server that can launch instances of game servers on request so one server could possibly serve multiple games simultaneous...

how do you find stone ?
So ran into a small issue where we cant find much stone on our current map, its a right bugger normally hiding under trees, I can normally only find it visually running about. Anybody got any tips/ tricks / ideas on how to find more stone ? *would rather avoid using console, although awards are disa...

Re: Question about Headless Username and Password.
Heya, yes you will need to use a valid username and password to have your server listed, and configure the server-settings.json file (copy the File otherwise the updater gets annoyed if you edit it) If you want to connect to your dedicated server on an internal network, connect Via IP not through th...

I have this issue on my dedicated server. Just connect to the device on its local (internal) IP address via connect to IP address, works fine for me.

Re: Whats the stance on griefing ?
I have been wrongly put on a community-curated ban list before, and I would be interested to see what sort of measures you would put in place to make sure it will not be misused. In my case it was because some kid decided that my username was too close to his, and called me out for attempting to im...

Re: Whats the stance on griefing ?
A community curated list of trolls/griefers is a possibility, but for now we havent seen much issue. (also you can just ban them, and reload from a recent autosave) I quite like that idea regarding the list - easy to implement and easy to work with. This finally got me off my arse to finally re-ena...

Re: Whats the stance on griefing ?
The video you posted, is private… DOH !!!! *fixed If we see a lot of disruptive or abusive behavior we may revoke a game membership without refund, but this has never been needed before. I have to say I am amazed by the community, I love not having a password on the server and the people I have met...

Whats the stance on griefing ?
I know other game developers will perma ban disruptive players. Just wondered what your stance on the whole thing is due to the other night this happened First time he had joined (later we found out he had also quietly been removing random pipes from the oil refineries) Don't know the chap, he just ...

Many thanks for the extremely fast reply !!! Yes you are quite right direct IP still works (I need to do this to connect to my dedicated as it is internal to my network the server browser does not function any longer). But I have noticed that I get quite a few errors in regards to the pingpong serve...

13.X Ignore PingPong command
Hi there, Although you have done great work with the multiplayer and getting people behind nat's who don't know how to port forward working, the server browser has issues connecting to multiple servers on the same IP. Please can we have an option to disable ping-pong and just specify the correct det...

Re: V 0.13.* full Server command matrix
Would still like the full list of commands on startup though :( What do you mean by “commands on startup”? If you mean available command-line arguments, you can just run factorio --help and it will print the list of arguments it accepts. Well now your just making me look stupid ..... Thanks :D *Sli...
