I appreciate the time. I think I figured it out. It's that the foundations cannot be deleted where they would create a 'hole' in the ship - BUT, there is no warning about this. I only discovered this restriction was the cause many hours later when trying to build (not delete) foundations ...

Thanks, that basically confirms it's a local environment issue then. I wonder what the hell could cause just that piece of functionality to not work for me??

I'm having the same issue. Nothing I do seems to deconstruct space platform foundations on my first platform. I just built a second one as a test and I *CAN* deconstruct on that no problem (so far, literally nothing on it yet). There should be nothing preventing the deconstruction on the original ...
