Re: Please, DO NOT remove space casino

Requester chest is not necessary, it could be belt or something. With the chest you may also "thrash unrequested" which should happen very very not so often and it will remove some accumulated materials out of the uniform distribution.

Re: Please, DO NOT remove space casino

But your logistics simplification seems flawed to me: if you direct-insert recycler output to your EM plant, it will eventually clog from random drift. At that point, there's no easy way to unclog it because you can't automatically take stuff out of the EM plant's **input** slot. Changing recipe ...

Re: Please, DO NOT remove space casino

So what you're telling me is that you are choosing to wait till you have a few levels more of an exponential cost science in order to have an ideal input condition for the build.

In context of the earlier answer:

The same reason for blue chips: it was also too slow for legendary science at ...

Re: Version 2.1.9

With this, my Vulcanus base should be able to become much smaller now.

Wondering if you know the trick of pointing a pump into a foundry that constantly switches Recipes to delete the Fluid inside it at an insane rate.

It is quite UPS unfriendly though.
For me it's like 4-5% of the whole ...

Re: Please, DO NOT remove space casino

Here at least i am feeling a bit lost because the initial claim appears to make no sense to me, and the follow up question seem to be on the same level, if you want to upcycle to legendary stuff, you may end putting quality module in both your processing units making EM plant, and their recyclers ...

Re: Please, DO NOT remove space casino

You don't put quality on processing units once they hit 300% productivity. So if you did 300% with -20% speed, it's going to look the same as 300% with 125% speed and so on because you just print 4 chips per recipe.

If you are at 300% productivity, why would you put quality on recyclers and then ...

Re: Please, DO NOT remove space casino

I'd prefer that quality science would be viable and made sense as a next step in the game, giving some tangible benefits for increased complexity.

As I said, the casino removal just pushes it into "pointless" territory, without giving anything in return, not even in the ultralate game.

The rest of ...

Re: Please, DO NOT remove space casino

Problem with the current nerf is that it mostly affects quality science production.
For the legendary infrastructure it does not matter.

Legendary calcite is trivially obtainable through moduled mining on vulcanus. No need to upcycle concrete.
No need to throw anything away - acid neutralization ...

Re: Version 2.1.7

I don't like the implication here that if you were using the previous method, you are lazy and deserve it somehow? A lot of gameplay involving the recycler is about finding the 'good' recipes to cycle and using them to your benefit. Well you even suggested some, but there's also others for ...

Any mod to revert this change?

As an alternative to a mod you can use /c game.player.insert("infinity-chest") and configure it to void items.

Am I misunderstanding this reply, or is the "solution" that's being suggested here for people to use a cheat instead of previously valid gameplay ...

Re: Version 2.1.7

I think something is broken with targeting algorithm on gun turrets in this version.
They jump up and down too much instead of shooting reliably like before, so my shattered planet station got overwhelmed by medium asteroids in <50k to shattered planet, while it was reliably flying to 300k+ before.

Re: Please, DO NOT remove space casino

Space casino is not completely dead, it is just changed.

If volume of byproducts is irrelevant, you can use normal crushing recipes with quality instead, probably on oxide chunks.
If minimizing amount of byproducts is important, just do raw chunk recycling on the first tiers.

Main implication as I ...

Re: Friday Facts #442 - Flip, Flow, and Fresh Paint

It sounds like you're trying to build trains around your factory instead of building a factory around the trains.
Also you can rename stations and if you give two stations the same name trains can go to either one of them (can't go to both at the same time because trains can only be in one place ...

Re: Friday Facts #442 - Flip, Flow, and Fresh Paint

Of course that would be a silly thing to do, since belts do not, in fact, teleport anything. Things on a belt move along that belt at a very steady and limited velocity. Very much a concept that is widely understood to definitively not be teleportation.

Ok, then what happens if that ...

Re: Friday Facts #442 - Flip, Flow, and Fresh Paint

Trains are unfortunately (almost) useless and quality won't save them.
Bigger acceleration and top speed is nice, but they are still inferior to belts.
Belts effectively teleport items, with a small downside of buffer capacity.
But they do not require all the setup with the stations and their ...

Re: Friday Facts #409 - Diminishing beacons

I don't like beacons in either form.
Almost always there is a single best solution - put max productivity in the machine, pump as much speed as possible through the beacons.
There are three associated challenges:
- design challenge, since they consume space around machines
- they require a lot of ...
