Re: Bots should be immune to lightning
-1 from me too.
Bot flight paths are 100 % predictable by carefully setting up your roboport networks. We have the capability to protect any possible paths using lightning rods.
How, exactly? My bots path over the ocean, and foundation is lightyears away. Predictable, sure, but a protect those ...

A better robot charging heuristic
What?
Robots should only charge at roboports that are closer to the destination than their last charging station was , instead of closer than they are.
Why?
In 2.0, robots will now only charge at roboports closer to their destination than the robots themselves are, to avoid a loop where they ...

Re: Choose What's Included in "Alt" vs. Always On
Seeing recipes on machines helps make machines look different. I never don't want to see the recipes. Maybe a dev taking screenshots for promotional art does, but who else does, ever?
I often do this because it's easier to see if a machine is working or not, I turn alt mode off and look at my ...

Re: Quality items in rocket building in silo. Let them behave same way as labs using science
I'd prefer if it made a higher quality rocket instead, with higher quality rockets having higher capacity. Maybe even allow the mixing of rocket components, where each one contributes a different amount to the overall rocket. Like, normal quality rocket parts are obviously 1/50th of a ton each, so ...

Bots should be immune to lightning
As far as I can tell, there's nothing I can do to protect my bots from getting struck by lighting. I can't tell them to path through lightning-proof areas, there's no way to control where to path, and they will often path outside those areas. I can't just expand the protected area to wherever they ...

Re: Allow things permissible by remote view when out of reach
There was a mod for 1.1 that did this called Remote Configuration, I bet it could be updated to 2.0 to open it in the new remote view mode (with the ghost inventory).

Re: Friday Facts #374 - Smarter robots
Will the charging heuristic also consider the charging speed of the roboport? I've been playing Krastorio 2, and recently I had to completely purge my base of normal roboports. because bots would often charge at them instead of the much faster large roboports.

Re: Quality level names poll
One issue with this is that there would now be items like "SS Flamethrower", which has another meaning that should probably be avoided.Tooster wrote: Fri Feb 23, 2024 5:08 pm from worst to best:

Re: Friday Facts #409 - Diminishing beacons
Perhaps I missed it, but one of the concerns about meddling with the beacons was whether the user would be able to calculate the benefits quickly in their head. I am not saying head calculus should be a showstopper, but the need for more clear presentation of throughput numbers becomes even more ...

Freehand lasso selection
TL;DR
Allow the player to switch between freehand lasso and rectangular lasso for the selection tools.
What ?
I suggest adding a way (probably a keybind) to switch between the rectangular lasso (that currently exists) and a freehand lasso, for all the existing "selection tools", e.g ...
