Re: Gleba science pack research micronmanagement solution

So, any news about this?

I've recently started producing Gleba science and now realized this problem. This is an obvious oversight and should be fixed.

Don't know about any updates but people already took matters in their own hands

Re: Gleba science pack research micronmanagement solution

Albeit in Factorio it is definitely worse,
Goodness gracious, Factorio is worse than the game which is excellent for UI shittiness benchmarking.
I probably once again ended up at the wrong side of the mirror.
Let's return to this comparison once/if HoI IV would get queue'able researches, OK ...

Re: Gleba science pack research micronmanagement solution

yes, being able to automate research would just be nice in general
I don't know about the wall recipe, but you'll definitely need a lot more stone compared to everything else (everything except for stone gets insane prod)

Re: Gleba science pack research micronmanagement solution

I know that spoilage is manageable, I'm not worreid about it, if I'm not going to be able to manage it it's a pure skill issue on my part (it takes an entire hour for gleba science to spoil iirc), all I'm worried about is having to micromanage different researches

'oh great the science packs ...

Re: Gleba science pack research micronmanagement solution

1. that's already how science labs work? unless I'm missing something
2. it would encourage using labs as buffers/chests and that would force people to daisy chain their labs if they don't want the science packs to spoil, spreading science around all of the labs evenly would also become a big issue ...

Gleba science pack research micronmanagement solution

TL;DR
Labs being able to target research AFTER the first one in the queue IF they are missing science packs

What ?
I see people having to baby sit research whenever a new delivery from gleba comes in and it just looks extremely annoying to do and if they don't keep track of it they just lose ...

Re: Friday Facts #400 - Chart search and Pins

Kind of unrelated, but legendary spidertrons with legendary legs seem to have a 'braking problem' so they just overshoot by massive distances, I was just wondering if this is going to be adressed in the new version

Re: Friday Facts #389 - Train control improvements

I might just be dumb, but do interrupts interrupt whatever the train is currently doing, or is it queued after? (and can you toggle it)
Having a train go to pick up ore just for it to do a 180 half way through would be slightly annoying

Re: Friday Facts #389 - Train control improvements

If you want the trains to have different behavior based on which train they are, isn't it natural that you would need different schedules for them? Unless you had the stop read the train ID and decide whether to activate the interrupt based on that. Each version could still be a train group ...

Re: Friday Facts #384 - Combinators 2.0

I was wondering actually, since the wire connection logic has been rewritten, do combinators keep their connections when 'cut & pasted'

The behavior of red/green wires when pasted will not change. Obviously the connections within a blueprint are kept, now and then.

Is this confirmed ...

Splitting the DLC into multiple packages is just so brilliant, I actually stopped playing rimworld because they just lumped everything together into one big package

Re: Friday Facts #378 - Trains on another level

stop fighting over whether factorio is or isn't a puzzle game (it doesn't matter) and let's talk about the fact that we still can't break landfill, it's the only permanent player placeable object that can't be destroyed and it replaces pollution absorbing water (landfill doesn't absorb any)

instead ...

What happens if the player exits the train in an elevated railway over water? Instant death?

You just can't exit, simple as that :)

Re: Friday Facts #378 - Trains on another level

Imagine releasing/showcasing content when you actually have something interesting to show for the community instead of being forced to churn out scheduled content updates, what a crazy idea. Take my money already.

I have a couple of questions
Can the player enter/exit the train when it's elevated ...
