Increased the underground belt length (basic, fast, express) from 5,5,5 to 5,7,9.
This changes everything!
Reduced the mining time of the storage tank from 3 seconds to 1.5 seconds.
I just rebuilt my refinery in my current game... relocating all those tanks was kinda annoying because of the ...

Re: Roboport repair pack inventory
Actually our "design" is that repair packs should be put primarily to logistic chest (storage or provider) and slots in roboport are just for robots that are returning from repair job with some repair packs left. So putting repair packs to storage chest is preferred solution.

Too bad factorio isn't nominated, but Civilization also deserves the '5 more minutes' reward.

Re: Poll: Horizontal or Vertical?
It depends on the map I'm on actually.
In my Current game my bus is horizontal (going left), but I've built a vertical one before.
Stuff like water, trees, location of start ores, ... all have influence over it.

Re: Friday Facts #168 - Nightvision Nightmare
Here's another test example. I reduced the greyscale to %80, and made the biters stand out a bit more:

It works really well with some of the other mechanics, like rail signal color, fire, headlights, and so on. Not all the images I edited turned out very ...

Seriously? The third picture isn't pleasant to look at at all....and it finally started to pleasant to look at.

But I never use nightvision anyway. Thermal vision would be nice though, spotting biters would be handy that way.

Re: How did you discover Factorio?
A friend of mine was playing factorio. He backed the indiegogo campaign.
I saw him playing it and it looked interesting. He gave me the game (I think it was an early version of 0.12 or maybe even 0.11).
I liked it and bought it just before factorio got released on steam.

The results of the nominations haven't been made public yet.
So there's still hope

I like Mid to Late game.
Setting up a train network and circuit production.
After that I always take some time to just look at my base to see everything's running smoothly and just relax. Take a few rides in a random train and check that everything can run without my interference.

yeah, that's what he's saying. They have the same research, but what he wants is to give each player his own research.XBBX wrote:Hmm I play with my brother and we get same research you probably are in different teams

Reminds me of my first base.. also spaghetti
But that's only normal imo, you don't know what to plan for during your first playthrough.
Looking back, my first base looks like shit but I was proud of it and that's the important thing

Re: Loop vs 2-headed train network
I tend to mix and match loops and 2 headed trains between games but often also within the same game. It all depends on my mood, the style I decided on for the game and various other factors. There's definitely not one single superior solution, it all depends. I might have loops on my high traffic ...

Also looking forward to civ VI.

Been playing since CIV III and yes IV and V weren't that great when they were just released. The DLC's are must buys

A 3D-printed inserter would be awesome.
