Re: I don’t understand the reasoning behind Nuclear Power (a finite resource)

And by the time you get to nuclear you should have fields and fields of solar panels like I do, so it’ll take quite a few reactors to run your factory. Here's the thing from my perspective - Solar is pretty expensive, takes up a ton of space, and is very boring. Sooooooo boring. I will only build i...

I don’t understand the reasoning behind Nuclear Power (a finite resource)

I haven’t launched my first rocket yet, so I’m not sure where or if nuclear comes into play with that. I know Nukes will be beneficial to rid large, advanced colonies of biters. But when there is Solar I’m not sure the need for Nuclear. As somebody who was anxious wasting my coal until I hurried up ...

Re: How common is it to deconstruct EVERYTHING and start over late-mid game?

You can't have any normal signal on any two-way track. That will always deadlock eventually. You can only use chain signals there. When you have a fork you must have the chain signals before the fork so a train does not enter the fork unless it can leave it. And if the track is one-way you can plac...

Re: How common is it to deconstruct EVERYTHING and start over late-mid game?

Regarding your new train tracks: DO 2 TRACKS, not one. One track for each direction. Leave 1 railway width space between these 2 tracks, you will need this space when you build curves and have to place signals, because one of your curve tracks will lead over the opposite track. The only other optio...

Re: Is using other people’s blueprints cheating?

Yeah screw that play through it a few times figuring shit out on your accord. I'm not to bright, I take forever and fumble through crap, but I'd feel like garbage if I was just laying out pre-made designs made by people who have 1,000's of hours invested in the game for me to just craft and place do...

I’ve gotta say hats off to the developers of Factorio. (My thoughts and mini-review of Factorio)

(Excuse the lengthy tangents, I like to write rambly when I’m doing cardio) Yeah factory bros, I’ve gotta say I’m inspired. Came outta nowhere, kept seeing pictures of peoples setups being posted on forums, and figured I’d see what all those fucking wires and pipes were about. And I’m glad I did. Re...

Re: Factorio Reddit

Check and make sure their spambot isn't picking them up, thats what happened to a couple of my threads. I believe they have alot of keywords to detect spam and sometimes it can catch the wrong stuff. Besides that it seems like nobody is answering my, what I feel, are pretty decent or not well known ...

Re: How common is it to deconstruct EVERYTHING and start over late-mid game?

Would it really take that long if I placed like 50 storage chests and selected the entire base and said to deconstruct? I have a few hundred bots of each type. Yes, because you would cut power line , and robot would no longer charge and work, or it would split the network, and some robot won't find...

Nevermind, I see logistics robots and auto trash was disabled......but I sure as hell didn't disable it. I guess its just one of those things that decided to fuck with me.

Re: How common is it to deconstruct EVERYTHING and start over late-mid game?

Oh good news, apparently my bots have just decided they don't want to fucking help re supply my shit anymore. I have my supply chests stocked full of all of these items and they were on point, they seem to have just stopped giving a shit. Sure enough I put some trash in my trash slots and 50 of em f...

Re: How common is it to deconstruct EVERYTHING and start over late-mid game?

I would say it's easier/faster to build aside the existing thing with robots than to replace everything. Just go on exile aside and rebuild from what can be salvaged of the previous base using robots. But restarting a game is also good, as you will be doing everything 'faster' than the previous tim...

How common is it to deconstruct EVERYTHING and start over late-mid game?

I’m getting distraught in my first playthrough (on peaceful mode). I’ve researched alot, just finished researching power armor mk2, nuclear, and was going to research kovarex eneichment before mining uranium and learning nuclear. I thought after advanced logistics and requester chests would solve my...

Re: Why do my robots seem to travel as far away as possible to work?

Interesting. Understood. Thank you for the quick information. I hate Reddit, but I started using it just from the sheer number of communities and information on topics. The Factorio subreddit feels worse than most of reddit though. Yah I'm along the lines of I don't mind waiting, but was just curiou...

Why do my robots seem to travel as far away as possible to work?

Gday, I’ve done a good bit of searching but I can’t find answer. Or maybe I’m too stupid to decipher it. I’m learning bots, and I now have a rather robust network of robots across my factory and railway. I of course put my first robots where my first Roboports were placed. So later on I’m across the...
