Another point left to consider is how to solve accidentally connecting pipes and tainting your whole oil system with water.
So will the placement mechanic of pipes be improved now too since pipe designs is getting more important for performance?
I hate when they auto-connect to nearby pipes.

Re: MINI MODS
I can edit the mod myself for personal use, but would it be possible to have passive provider chests instead of active provider chests in the Logistic Mine? Or have both versions?

Re: Stations & other LTN based designs
I assumed that trains at my requester stations output an item signal, I´m almost sure that I even tested this, but that´s not the case now.
Is this a change, factorio bug or only a misunderstanding?

Re: Stations & other LTN based designs
That "trash" setup is good, but you won´t have any control over it if you have multiple depots and want to gather your trash at one place.
My setup is a bit more versatile, and can be added to any existing station setups.
I currently bring my trash back to my mall, where they are put back into ...

Re: [Discussion] use Provider-Requester distance
Interesting issue.
Would it be possible to solve this by adding a train line signal, or similar (maybe use depot number)?
If depot gets a signal "Line 1", Provider signal "Line 1" and Requester "Line 1", then the trains connected to teh Depot would serve only those stations.
LTN would then assume ...

Re: [Discussion] use Provider-Requester distance
The simple solution is to build our bases and railways smarter.
Dividing the base into dedicated outposts is a well known strategy, but we should also divide our rail network. A ore train in a far western ore outpost shouldn´t be able to travel to our smelter in the far east, it should only find ...

I haven´t seen anyone share a trash system in this thread yet, so here is my simple solution.

All items in the chest a.k.a trash bin (can also be a requester, buffer, storage) are merged and combined into a fish signal.

Re: Stations & other LTN based designs
Oh, I see. It´s a solution for the extreme situations.
I use your BP-book, or my own design, but I try to avoid connecting them to the logistic network.
It´s easy to get carried away and try to make LTN do more than it´s supposed to do. It works sometimes, but mostly end up in failure in some way.

Is your design in the first posts, or your other thread, performance optimized (or omptimized "enough") according to your latest advices?
What do you mean?
You suggested whitelists, avoided sending too many signal to train stop etc.

Yeah, I guessed so. I temporary fixed by only having oil supplied.

Does this (still) work?
Can I do specific depots for specific train compositions by simply giving the depots different names?

Crash when opening infinity chest [16.8]
I´m trying to open the infinity chest, but it keeps crashing.
Tried first in my modded game, but the same happens in vanilla.
Can easily be reproduced by placing a infinity chest and then try to open it.

Re: Version 0.16.8
So I guess my suggestion was kind of implemented:
A cargo wagons currently takes less than a steel chest so if we apply roughly the same logic a possible rebalance would be:
Fluid wagon should be 20K fluid.
Each barrel=100 fluid and stack 5. (20k fluid)
Both wagons should have the same weight ...

We are still at the early versions of 0.16. Autodownload of 0.16 may come sooner than you think, maybe ven be mentioned in tomorrows FFF.

Re: Factorio 0.16.7 - Index out of bounds
Ok, just to clarify, it is impossible to use fluid wagon with LTN in 16.7?
And 16.6 works, and 16.8 will most likely solve this problem?

Re: Crash when mixing fluid and regular wagons
Oh, a factorio bug related issue.
Ok, so this setup will/might be possible in a future version?
Probably safest to not combine fluid wagons and cargo wagon then..
