Not a bug. Obstacle just in front and obstacle "outside of the screen" are both within railgun turret range and turret is free to choose any target that is in range and matches filters. There are no rules saying it should target an obstacle that is just in front of.

Just to refresh: the problem is that platforms get unexpected huge damage if the player does not look at them. If it do, everything ok.

How many rocket turrets you have in the front? 1? I can only see 1 from the screenshot. It may not be enough to destroy medium chunks if you are travelling at high speed.

Thanks for the report. While this isn't technically a bug - the asteroids spawned depend on everything else that has happened in the game up until that very tick - I think it's worth changing so that isn't the case and they're more consistent with spawning.

So with that in mind, I've changed ...

I've notice the following problem: sometimes space platforms get unxpeted huge damage when they are moving between planets in background and I do not look at them. I can load the last save and get the same result. But if I load the save again and switch to the platform, everything becomes normal ...

Platform wagon

There are few wagon types available to the player. All of them are very specific. The idea is to introduce a special "platform wagon" 2x6 that could be used as the foundation for some small buildings like gun turrets, chests, combinators or inserters.

Thanks! The think is that Factorio intruduced a trains that copy behaviour of trains in the real world: thay have stations and schedules, they follow traffic signals and so on. But the most famous property of any train, the horn, is completely ignored. It is not good.

Only thing missing is a warning horn.


This one doesn't make sounds, apparently, but it says it shows warning lights where a train is about to show up.

Summary
I suggest that a train horn could be introduced, that could be activated either manually or automatically when a train is about to hit the user. It should be more or less cheap to implement, but it will save lots of user "lives" when they crossing railroads!
