Ah, axe. A weapon for when you don't want to waste ammo for one bug (and it deals more damage than pistol!). It would be nice to be able to increase its damage or swing speed with research, but most of the time you either have a ranged weapon to not put yourself to risk, or already screwed up. Excep...

Electric furnaces also makes steel furnaces useless.
It's because steel furnaces don't need for craft.
