I have the problem that after updating from 15.22 to 15.23 my base is 90% black on the map and minimap (completely vanilla, but with death world settings).

My initial approach was to convert the number I wanted to get out of the game (player life percent) to a binary representation in Lua and then call a function for every 1 and call a function for every 0.

Dang it, you're absolutely right, I didn't think of this :/
The problem is that the furnace doesn't know which recipe to use, because there is no selection screen, so it picks the normal ore -> iron plate recipe.
Need to remove the normal smelting again, should be fixed now
