[Twinsen][0.17.0] Laser tower beams affected by daylight (dark at night)

At day, the new beams of the laser towers are really bright, while at night they are barely visible.
I hoped you'd fix this in 0.17 as it is the same issue that this mod had: https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Laser_Beam_Turrets
Imo the beams were also a bit prettier..

And the beams are not aligned correctly with the head of the tower.

It would also be nice if they didn't shoot at the feet of the biter..

Makes me really sad because it was the feature i was looking forward to the most...

I'm gonna guess they're inundated with work and don't have time to respond to everything individually. I can't imagine they won't fix this though. Those lasers are gonna look so cool at night :)

i don't even know why you implemented it this way, feels like you just stole the system from that mod and failed to fix its issues.

It's not a very big bug, all things considered. 0.17 just came out and there's a lot of other stuff to fix, including lots of crashes and rendering glitches. They'll get to it, be patient.

They're dealing with crash bugs for an entire platform (MacOS) and you're complaining about their speed in fixing an inconsequential graphical glitch with no gameplay effects. Take a xanax.

i told them about this issue when they mentioned the new towers in their fff.
fixing this pretty surely requires some changes in the engine, that's why i'm not sure that they will fix it in 0.17.

Given the issues with lamps, I suspect their light/shadow engine has some issues.

Don't worry, it is not forgotten, it is just not quick fix as many other things; neither the fix is expected to introduce new issues so we are prioritizing other things at the moment.
