SETUP:
With the addition of inter-platform logistics, I wanted to try manufacturing nukes and rocket silos in space to send them interplanetary.
I set up an orbital factory floor over nauvis that produces nukes and rocket silos, and I created another transport vessel.
THE PROBLEM:
I cannot set a request for items >1 ton to be delivered to my transport ship, as "This item weight exceeds the rocket capacity".
However, I can request the SAME items with circuit controlled requests, or automated requests (in the case of a modded building that >1 ton), and they will be delivered from other space platforms.
This is inconsistent.
WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN:
I should be able to set a request for items >1 ton to be delivered from other space platforms!!!
SIDE NOTE:
The save file was created using creative mod, however you do not need it to load the world.
Edit: added more info and confirmed still happens on 2.1.9

Re: [2.1.8] Cannot transfer nukes or rocket silos between space platforms
If they can't be sent up to space via shuttle, what makes you think they can fit into cargo pods?
I'd say this is working as intended.

They CAN fit in the cargo pod, because you can drop them down from space to the ground. ALSO, buildings >1 ton CAN be delivered between space platforms as part of construction requests. although, this requires modding in a building >1 ton.danbopes wrote: Fri Jun 26, 2026 3:12 am If they can't be sent up to space via shuttle, what makes you think they can fit into cargo pods?

Furthermore, you can do the same thing by just assembling the items directly on the transport ship, which i DO in 2.0 to bring rocket silos to planets when i go there for the first time. It isn't game breaking to allow moving items >1 ton between platforms.
To not allow specifically moving items >1 ton between platforms in this manner, seems really inconsistent to me. It seems like a bug.

Re: [2.1.8] Cannot transfer nukes or rocket silos between space platforms
the lore expressed by the rocket capacity tooltips is a rocket can only lift so much weight into orbit. If you stretch your imagination you could also believe a cargo pod doesn't have the delta V to get between orbits holding a rocket silo, but can somehow survive a landing. Either way it's not about volume in the pod or the rocket.
Nukes were disallowed for balance but it means brain canon says they are ridiculously heavy

Re: [2.1.8] Cannot transfer nukes or rocket silos between space platforms
Upon further testing, after modding in a rocket silo big enough to launch up a nuke, I can now transfer nukes between my space platforms, regardless of whether or not I actually build said bigger rocket silo...
Why does the hypothetical existence of a bigger rocket silo affect the cargo pods? only wube knows.
It seems like my only choice will be to mod in a 1000 ton unobtainable rocket silo.

Upon further further testing, you can also transfer heavy items between platforms using circuit controlled requests.
But not with the manual requests.

For some reason, you can force requests that usually wont allow via circut controlled requests, or setting a logistics group of lets say a rocket silo and then add it to the space platform and you have it there.zombieseatflesh7 wrote: Fri Jul 10, 2026 10:40 pm Upon further further testing, you can also transfer heavy items between platforms using circuit controlled requests.

it also will attempt to launch whatever that item is from the planet and the silo will just get stuck because it cant launch it because its to heavy.
You can also somehow (i have not figured this out why) have a minimum request higher then the rocket capacity of said item, i somehow got my minimum request for chemical plants to 25 even though it should be 10.
Just a lot of weird edge cases for the inter platform logistics right now.
Re: [2.1.9] Cannot transfer nukes or rocket silos between space platforms
I agree, this should be possible.
Cargo pods can send far more than a rocket launch.
Even with normal buildings, to can send 2,3 or way more than a single rocket capacity to the surface or another platform inside a single pod.
You can send silos to the surface.
But the options for silos in logistics are hardcoded out. Platform-to-platform should have no such restrictions. Game mechanics imply this is already the case.

Thanks for the report,
I have removed the GUI limitation in the next release
