Noticed a significant frame time increase upgrading from 2.0.44 to 2.0.45: particle update time went from 0.5ms to almost 5ms, mostly likely due to the gleba graphics change (and I have a lot of trees). I have the particle effects disabled in the graphics setting so I'm expecting this to be almost 0.

Side note I noticed Steam beta version seems wrong:
when I tried to roll back to 2.0.44 it didn't update the game and I had to roll back to 2.0.43 and then go back to 2.0.44.

This will be fixed for the next release. We’re still working on improving it further but for at least the next release the particles won’t spawn when not viewed, and when viewed they will have a shorter lifetime.
