hi, sorry, i not native english speaker,
i have new idea about play this game,
1. replace belt items (bottoms)menu with "shadow building construction menu", either you have or not the ingredient for the building or you have the building, this icon will available as long you have research it (exclude basic like basic belt, basic burner, etc)
2. then you select an icon from it, for example a burner, and place it at the world, it will be a new shadow building,
A.if you have the building in your inventory, the building will deploy instantly as long the place in reached area of player
B.if you dont have the building but you have the ingredient for the building, it will added new queue to build that building then do to step A,
C.if you dont have both of ingredient and the building in your inventory, then it will no nothing until step A or B reached,
i dont know if this kind mod exist or no, if that kind mod exist please tell me
strategy mode
Re: strategy mode
Try this mod: https://mods.factorio.com/mod/brave-new-world
Not exactly what you want, but it provides RTS like mode.

Re: strategy mode
The simple answer is... if you don't like any existing mods, or none do what you're after... write your own.
That's basically where I started. I was playing DyTech and FMod, and I didn't like the way you got ores, so I made a mod to add ore fields to the game, base game style... then I didn't like the way you refined them, so I started writing methods to refine them, and eventually I just dropped the original mods, and wrote a full mod myself.
Then I made the mistake to publish it, and have been tied down to Factorio ever since.

Re: strategy mode
i like to make it, but there is some problem, bobingabout wrote:The simple answer is... if you don't like any existing mods, or none do what you're after... write your own.
the thing that i requested is only expert who can make it,
if you ask me to make the player increasing walk speed i probably can make it,
but in first place, how you do edit the core of the game?

Re: strategy mode
Don't get me wrong, writing my mods was a huge learning experience too.
I had the benefit of looking through the previously mentioned mods to see how they modded things, and basically just copied what they did, editing where appropriate to do what I wanted instead.
My mods are available for you to read through, like a tutorial. You are even allowed to edit them. The licence though states that you're not allowed to publish any edits, or use any code/assets from my mods without my permission
