Re: LuaRendering.draw_on_map
+1 from me. My mod can "mark" already selected areas and it would be nice for bigger areas to zoom out on the map for better overview.
I haven't lost my mind, it's backed up on tape somewhere.

Re: LuaRendering.draw_on_map
big +1 from me, I could make a lot of use off this.
just being able to specify in what cases a LuaRendering should be visible would allow for a lot of nice mod ideas that I had for a long time, for example showing red and green circuit wire connections in the map view, there and only there.
also being able to add further custom "overlays" like the rail network would be neat, or alternatively mod-dependent things like wind, temperature or other environmental info.

Re: LuaRendering.draw_on_map
I want to give this a major +1!
The ability to have some basic rendering on the map would allow for so many creative additions from mods. Personally I want to add region overlays on the map so you can plan factories or zone outposts and have those areas marked by semi transparent rectangles, much like how pollution is handled.
Please may we get something like this for factorio 2.0!

+1 This feature would be very useful for the mod my friend is working on. Hope you consider adding it.

Re: LuaRendering.draw_on_map
+1 the reasons are still the same as 4 years ago
Make at least chunks more visibe (Map setting: chunk_gridlines) or something similar

+1. Just look at the sheer fucking number of established modders that have replied in this thread, the amount of mods that'd benefit from this would've been huge.

ahem ahem

Re: LuaRendering.draw_on_map
+ 1, i have noticed a lack of this feature many times, and have a mod using map tags, but that has a lot of limitations

Re: LuaRendering.draw_on_map
For 2.0.56, I added render_mode.
