Something that is really bugging me since i bought the game is the fact that you have to find the servers ip to connect to it...
I know that there are websites and such with a good and healthy list of servers for me to choose from, but still, it would be a great improvement if the game had a master list and a server browser built in for us to connect and see the available servers.
Also, because the steam version is coming out, it would be amazing and a lot more people would play the game online.. and i look with antecipation to that moment!
Would that take the devs much work? I have no idea, but it would be AMAZING!
Thank you for your time,
Cheers!

Re: Server Browser
Except factorio doesn't have servers, it has people playing a game that is open for other people to join in, it's not quite the same thing.
One thing I want for factorio is actual servers, but they'll never come.
Nether the less... I have seen games that have a similar peer to peer connectivity like this that actually do have a server directory, I wouldn't mind the option in Factorio either, even though personally I'd never use it. (because I'd only connect to friend's games, or have them connect to me.)

A headless client is on the developers list. It's basically as close to a server as you can get with the way factorio multiplayer works.bobingabout wrote:Except factorio doesn't have servers, it has people playing a game that is open for other people to join in, it's not quite the same thing.

I'm interesting in this website that has a server list on it.

It was mentioned even in the first "linux sever" thread.bobingabout wrote:Thats a supprising step forward I guess.
I am not sure about any concrete public anoucements, though.
Map storage servers are still a good idea. It's just "game servers" that make little sense.
