Combinator and Train or Space Platform Condition Saving

Post by Aricitic »

TL;DR
Add the ability to save "conditions" within either the Decider Combinator and/or Trains/Space Platforms in a manner similar to the ability to save Logistic Groups.
What?
The ability to save entire segments, or (preferably) all "and" groups of conditions and insert them elsewhere (separately). Similar to how Logistic Groups can be saved and loaded independently.
Why?
Now that Decider Combinators are more complex and for as long as trains have had the ability to have multiple "and" conditions separated by an "or" the ability to create overly complicated conditional statements, or strings within these statements, has been significant... To the point where if you need more than one thing to do "roughly" the "same" thing, but with a few minor differences, shift+right+click and shift+left+click was absolutely necessary... however...

Utilizing the built-in copy/paste feature for entities, as it is now, is either "too much" or "not enough" (or both, at the same time). I don't want to change the color of Object B to the same as Object A. I need to copy/paste the entirety of a string of conditionals but some of the values need to change... etc.

The addition of more complex Decider Combinators and the addition of "Train Groups" has changed the game significantly. The "train groups" option allows for easier sharing of conditionals, but if you need roughly the same station names and conditional parameters - but with say, Iron instead of Copper... I've had to learn how to change one without changing all of them at the same time.

Conveniently the functionality that I'm requesting already exists as of 2.0, but only for Logistics Groups. Personally, I see these two as nearly identical. Yes, one is literally just a list of "thing", Min, Max, and Surface; while the other is "constant > operator > signal (on channel)" or "signal (on channel) > operator > constant" or "signal (on channel) > operator > signal (on channel)" plus "and" or "or" followed by more of the same. And, yes, I recognize that scheduling has "station name" attached to it -- how useful this would be as an equivalent for Circuitry I cannot even begin to state... -- but isn't that similar to the naming scheme of Logistics?

Of Note:
It is entirely possible that something similar to what I'm asking already exists, and not in mod form (I checked...). If it does then it isn't referenced anywhere that I could find (trust me, I checked, again...). I do know that some features of Factorio are not explicitly explained within the game... or even referenced, ever, but many of those are able to be found outside of the game (i.e. middle mouse clicking to set a 'filter').
IF I am just not finding the thing that allows the above, please let me know. I'll delete this post (if I'm allowed).
Two final things
