TL;DR
Add a logistics-style max/min slider to the roboport's bot request system.
What?
In 2.0 we can add a request to keep a certain number of robots in a roboport to help enable faster response times for requests in far-flung or high-priority locations. But one thing we can't do it set a *maximum* number of resident robots, to prevent far-flung requests from accumulating all your logistics bots in nearby roboports.
Why?
The case where this came in my game is when I have a requester chest for artillery shells out at the walls. The bots stream out to the walls to deliver shells, and then they just park there. Those remote roboports don't have any provider chests nearby, so having logistics bots sitting there isn't helpful.
The idea is basically to add max/min request sliders like we have for logistics requests to the robot requests. I can provide more details and examples if this is unclear. Thanks!

Re: Add maximum robot count to roboports
An existing bot request in a roboport reserves that slot for itself.
So if you add a request for 50-300 non-existing robots (for example epic construction robots that you don't have), that roboport will have less empty space to house logistic robots.
Would this work for your scenario?

Ooh, clever! That would work, and I can implement that around my base, thank you for the suggestion!
I still think the feature would be nice to have, but that does make it less pressing.
