[2.0.47] DesyncedWaitingForMap Issue for multiplayer save

Hey sorry if this is an easy issue to address, but I looked throughout the forums, reddit, and tried a bunch of things to get our current save to work.

We're about 100 hours into a heavily modded save, and I think we started the save in 2.0.43 and updated automatically to 2.0.47 on may 5th but we were still able to play until couple days ago.

I play the save mainly myself and host a MP save via steam, uploading to Factorio Zone (awesome team out there!) and my friend will play from there when I can't afk. We've had no issues playing that way but the rubberbanding was a little worse than just playing MP from my pc.

Anyways we just got to Gleba, where my friend exclusively worked there while I worked on the home planet. While he logged out there I kept at it here and moved to volcanus for the first time. Now when he tried to join he'd immediately desync right after he loaded the map. Eventually he gave up and I played alone some more.

I sent him the save and he was able to log in himself. He'd send me an invite but when I pressed join the steam overlay would vanish and nothing would happen. I'd just be in the main menu of the game and continue to be in the main menu. It wouldn't let me join. We sent the game to Factorio Zone but only one of us can log in at a time. While either of us are in the other would desync right after finishing loading the map. Sometimes we'd be able to get into the game and even walk for 2-5 seconds before desyncing, other times map wouldn't visually show up before desyncing. The code in both factorio zone and in our reports would show "DesyncedWaitingForMap" with the lines below right after joining.

The closest I've seen this issue was this post: viewtopic.php?p=365719&hilit=desync%2C+ ... ap#p365719
but the people there were able to pinpoint it to a mod. We removed all mods but the DLC mods, (space age, elevated rails, quality) and even then we still weren't able to join each others game via internal MP hosting. Eventually I hosted a new save and he was able to get past the "unresponsive steam join game staying in main menu" issue and join the new save. So we concluded that he can still join a game, but just that save wouldn't allow any joining and causing instant desync, no matter the mods.

I'm thinking with the amount of things I've done without him it's causing issues with him loading in, but even if he has the same save I don't get it. I thought maybe it was the mod settings, so we shared that between us. I was looking into a tool that can trim the save down since he went many KM north for no reason other than test the jetpack mod so I wanted to reset those cells. Or remove all item's from our chests because that might be causing inventory discrepancy but I can't find that tool. Our save also got to 75mb so I wanted to trim it down. I'm about to try a world reset via the regenerate terrain mod.

My desync report btw is 451mb :(

I fixed it! I went ahead and did regenerate terrain via mod of same name of Nauvis, paused the game after inviting and letting them load in. And they unpaused it and we're now back in baby!
