[MOD 0.15] Almost Wireless Circuits

Post by theRustyKnife »

Almost Wireless Circuits

Description:

Adds a pole that has a huge wire reach but can only carry circuit wires. Also allows you to make regular poles circuit-only to help clean up your contraptions.

I don't particularly want/need the distance, but I would love to have a variant of this mod that with regular medium/big poles that do circuits-only!

Hmm, I could do that.
Would it be enough to just have an option to change whether the pole is circuit only when placing it? That way it wouldn't even be necessary to add new entities.

That's actually better, I think! Would it 'stick' when they're blueprinted?

Maybe a decon planner tool that marks selected poles as circuit-only, so it can be done after placement from a blueprint full of poles?

Hope it's gonna be helpful ;)
Also the blueprint support is made via dummy entities - don't mind them in the materials summary...

Most of my wiring mess happens with the Medium Electric Pole laying and having to get rid of all the copper wires to make them circuit only.

Have you thought about adding this mod's capabilities to the "Medium Electric Pole"?

FWIW, cleaning up copper mess on medium poles was most of the reason i wrote wirestripper. It's not quite as elegant of a solution, since it's still manual cleanup, but at least i'ts all in one go now, right? :D

It's been a long time since I worked on or used this, but I think the mod can actually do it. Look for a gui appearing when building poles.
