Is ther somethin in between vanilla and the super high complexity mods?

Post by Sevetamryn »

Hi,

I'm just late in 1st (250+h) game ... looking forward to restart. However, i really enjoyed the point where i had to explore into advanced chem and nuclear. I would like to have a bit more complex game, however, not truly in the scale of py, space or see tile.
Any recommendation for something good in the middle of complexity?

Cheers, Sevetamryn

Krastorio 2 or Exotic Industries seem like they would do. Not intented as "nightmarish", oriented toward late game addition with a bit changes at every stage rather than early game focus/complexification. Although mods evolve faster than i can play, and Exotic Industries scope may have increased more than i realize since i played it. It's larger than Krastorio by default, but you can tweak research costs in settings to make them cheaper which can shorten the game to make it on par or try to with K2.

There exist "smaller" overhaul mod i think too, that are on my list and that seem to fit your description, but i haven't tested them yet personnaly that would be : Freight forwarding for new logistic challenges and Lunar landings for space, but not deep space :)

For me, I found the answer to this lay in over 170 different smaller mods. :)
My Mods: Classic Factorio Basic Oil Processing | Sulfur Production from Oils | Wood to Oil Processing | Infinite Resources - Normal Yield | Tree Saplings (Redux) | Alien Biomes Tweaked | Restrictions on Artificial Tiles | New Gear Girl & HR Graphics

I can second Krastorio 2. It's almost like an expansion pack rather than a total overhaul.

I'm having a blast with IR3. Complete overhaul, adds some complexity, but it's manageable so far (I'm quite in the early stages).
