Refineries - Clean Piping
Refineries - Clean Piping
This layout is expandable to as many, or as few, refineries as you want to use.
Features are:
- Easiest design for walking through the refinery area I've done so far.
- Three outputs are pretty well separated, allowing processing facilities and storage tanks near the outputs of each product type.
- Cleaner design that using above ground pipes.
Re: Refineries - Clean Piping
clean, and efficient.
I suggest using electric pumps to suck the fluids out of the refinery pipes and push into storage tanks. That can help chem labs produce faster and monitor production rates.

Re: Refineries - Clean Piping
Thats pretty much the layout i was using. And with pump its super efficient.
Re: Refineries - Clean Piping
I like it more when pipelines are visible and output and input sides are separated. Even with cost of some extra space.
Also with storage, you might want to use output pump to use max volume of your pipes. (refinery->-pump->storage ->pump->chem.plants)

Re: Refineries - Clean Piping
You guys are right -- I totally neglected to include pumps on this one. Still not too bad considering the pumps can be used right as the piping breaks away from the refineries. Can't believe I forgot them :/
Re: Refineries - Clean Piping
Well, pumps as they are now, are not necessary at all (except for some special situations) If your pipes are not as low as 0.1% or something like that, enough oil/gas will flow from alone to every plant needed.
