This seems to be a very effective way to fight the spread of pollution.
Also deals with the problem of, once you destroy a nest it no longer eats the pollution so it spreads further to even larger nests.
Only seems to work with spitter nests as the biters can spawn in the spaces next to the spawner itself which you can't block.
Otherwise once the walls are in place, this contraption requires no additional defences as the mobs aren't able to spawn.

Re: Making Enemies Fight For You
I would like to see math on how much the biter bases absorb pollution compared to regular trees.
edit, where dave? ;
some1 do mathEach spawner absorbs 20 + 0.01 * [chunks pollution] every game second (60 ticks), if the chunks pollution is greater than 20 otherwise it absorbs the total pollution.
