Efficient, Aesthetic & Automated Red & Green node

Post by stunevol »

Thought i'd share this. Been trying for ages to find an aesthetically pleasing and highly efficient layout for an automated RED+GREEN science setup. I'll address the others separately when i get to them (still fairly new to the game).
Will post link below since i cant put url's in my first comment.

4 factories per is overkill. 3 red/green already supply like 8 labs (probably more)

hey there fellow new-guy.
(started a few hours ago)
mind if i "borrow" this design from ya? looks great!

my designs usually tend to start out nicely, then get extremely messy in a flash...
but this looks very neat!

4 is overkill? Guess it depends on play style. 4 is a nice start. And yeah, he could supply some more labs, which are nicely laid out to be expanded already.

Very elegant :)

I'm fairly new to this, but it seems the cog production in the green production line is a bit of a bottleneck. I've added a long inserter from the cog production on the red line to the conveyor belt production, which seems to balance it out quite nicely.

Isn't that the wrong ratio? Afaik, you should have 6 green and 5 red.

As long as you produce enough red and green to saturate your labs, there is no such thing as good ratio. However, if you produce just precisely enough to feed your labs full speed, then, ratios are 5 red, 6 green, 12 blue in vanilla.
