My transport belt construction.

Post by Blue_Lucario »

Hey y'all,

This is my take on transport belt stuff :)
Bots can bring them to me! Better living through science!

The smart inserters take any extra pieces back out of the logistic network :)
It is slow at first :? but works great and was fun to make :D

Please let me know what you think ;)

Why do you put everything onto belts and not let inserters transfer the goods between assembly machines directly?
I have the cape.
I make the fucking whoosh noises.

Because it looks so much better that way!!! :D

(It is easier to find bottlenecks when I can see more)

Well it is compact, that's nice. Is one assembler for yellow belts enough for red belts, yellow splitters and yellow underground belts being produced at maximum speed?

I like how compact it is, and it looks pretty cool to boot. :D I think you are probably slowing things down a bit though by having everything go onto a belt and then picked up again rather than inserting directly into an assembler when possible.

No, red belts have same crafting time as yellow belts, so one assembly machine is not enough. But main bottleneck of this setup are gears especially with yellow inserters. Red belt production needs 10 gears/sec.

I think you should use separate belt for gear, at least for belt production and for picking lower tier belts use long handed inserter. Or maybe use some buffer chests for inserter stack size bonus.

why not put the belt column in the center. would put basic belt assember next to all 3 things that eat basic belts, would also put the two lubricant eating assembers next to eachother.

I'm not really trying for maximum speed. ;)
I told my bots I want 200 of these 50 of those and so on.
It more than covers my base tweaking needs. :D
Here I was aiming for looks and compactness.
For speed I would have built this all differently. :P
