Ideas that are too old (too many things have changed since) and ones which won't be implemented for certain reasons or if there are obviously better suggestions.

Hi everyone,

I completed Factorio some years ago and picked it up again, when Space Age arrived.

Now I about to embark on conquering Aquilo, but for the past 30 hours of gameplay I have kept a list of all the things I think would helpful to have implemented.

I suspect some of points will be user error or something I missed. Please do not hesitate to clarify it for me.
I hope this is helpful to the development team.
  • Please show logistic storage count (for the planet, I'm currently viewing) when hovering over items in the crafting menu. This is a major issue for me. At least make it an option to enable <3
  • When ghost-building I know there's a difference in blue if the item is on it's way or not. But when building an single item, it can be hard to tell. Would be nice to have the status show in the sidebar.
  • Remove 'Create' from the button artillery remote and discharge descriptions in the bottom toolbar. Seems like a remnant from a past use. Very confusing for new players since I'm not creating anything - it's just a cursor. The titles w/o 'create' will work perfectly.
  • When placing Agicultural Towers it's waaay too hard to see which tiles are good (green/yellow?) and not good. The colours do not stand out enough. Especially when close to roboports.
  • When steam turbines are exactly 500.00 degrees, they do not necessarily turn on.
  • Would be great to have an artillery auto targeting range toggle when looking at the map.
  • While pasting items, why can't I right click to remove placed items (not ghosts), but I can when I'm placing ghosts?
  • When I have unfulfilled ghost orders (no items in the logistical storage), why do construction robots not take and place my items, when I trash them from my own inventory, instead of taking them to a shared storage and then bringing them out?
  • Would be great if content overview for the rocket silos in the sidebar had a separation between the components for the rocket parts and the contents of the rocket.
  • Why do my personal construction bots not place ghost requested items? There's no items in the logistical network to fill the request and I'm not requesting them myself.
  • Fulgora is great, but for the love of God let me mute all 'a bot was killed by lightning' alerts. I get it. I know. They cross a sea which I'm not going to fill up any time soon. They produce new units when a bot is lost. It's fiiiiine, but you're constantly on the edge of your seat for no reason until you get a bit numb, and then it's all a boy who cried wolf and you ignore it.
    I cannot tell you how many attacks on my base on Gleba I've missed because of this :D
  • A map toggle to show lightning rod/collector coverage on Fulgora.
  • Would be great if I in a circuit I could read if a stacker is waiting for space in its destination.
  • When making an item request, it would be amazing to have a toggle to delete the request (or disable the logistics group), once it has been fulfilled once or x amount of times.
  • When hovering in the tech suit over a rocket silo, the top of the rocket is shown on top of the player.

Thank you for a wonderful game. I'm now a total of 300 hours in and I still enjoy it very much.

We have never been able to see the logistic count for the whole planet, just for one logistic network at a time. Do you mean the logistic network that contains the Cargo landing pad? You know you can hit "L" to see and "Ctrl-F" to search the contents of any logistic network, right?

+1, but it doesn't have to be in the sidebar, just more contrast between the two colours.

Do you mean the ability to turn artillery auto-targeting off from the map, or just toggle the view of the range?

Can you clarify what you mean? When either holding a ghost or an actual item, I can remove both placed items and ghosts with right-click.

They usually do. If they don't, it's because personal roboport is toggled off ("Alt-f"), or you don't have the item in your inventory, or you don't have construction bots in your inventory. Do your construction bots never place ghost items, or does this only happen sometimes?

Any placed item that's not protected from lightning will blink yellow in map view. If you're talking about areas with no placed items, why would you want that? What's the motivating situation to implement this feature?

+1 This is a common feature request, so hopefully this adds to that pile of requests.

I was just coming here to ask for this also - use case:
I want to build on my island and it'd be nice to proactively see where I have lightening rod coverage so that I can set up the rod grid BEFORE I start dropping down blueprints for items that when built will A) have no coverage and be destroyed and B) get in the way of where a lightening rod would need to be placed.
Currently, the only way to do this is to hold a lightening rod in your hand, keeping it away from the currently covered areas and run around the entire island looking for places that aren't blue.

I was thinking that since Fulgora doesn't use pollution anyway, that toggle on the map could be for the lightening rod coverage.

Map view already has lightning rod coverage if you're holding a lightning rod ghost in your hand. No need to be there running around.
